Bill Oddie was one of the first comedy performers that I really loved. Very sad to see him go. #RIP ecky thump.

Hi Womble, I finished When There Are Wolves Again by EJ Swift. A beautifully told, timely, hopeful tale. it’s fiction but reading it while watching footage of entire ecosystems ablaze is chilling. it’s not just about big ideas; the personal tales truly brought a lump to my throat.
Good Morning Blue Sky! Hope you’re all ok? Today I’m currently reading and hugely enjoying Harbour of Hungry Ghosts by Eliza Chan. What are you reading at the moment? I’m also soon going to the movies so reposts may be some time this morning as it’s a long movie!
"Sunny Jim" in Private Eye nails the Tories' new approach to climate change...
It seems as though I’m being followed by entire counties. What next? Norfolk?
Morning, Womble, just finished RF Kuang’s The Poppy War which was really quite something and even more gut-punch brutal than I had thought. Imaginative and cruel. Perhaps I’m conditioned to expect heroes in fantasy but this book shatters that expectation. Next up something with a different tone!
Good Morning Blue Sky! Hope you’re all ok? Today I’m currently reading the very good Luminous by Sylvia Park for final Clarke reading. What are you reading at the moment?
“Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper?”
Date yourself with an old film reference.
Let's take a look at this claim as "revealed" by the Daily Mail. TLDR - It's taken them a reeeeeally long time to "reveal" this law 😜 So what's the reality behind this headline? 🧵 1/23
Just finished Pagans by James Alastair Henry which felt like a late night thought-experiment that took on a life of its own. Sometimes nasty, often funny and frequently of the moment. Next up? The Poppy War by RF Kuang or maybe NK Jemisin’s The City We Became. There are other contenders, however!
Good Morning Blue Sky! Hope you’re all ok? Today I’m currently reading the final chapters of The Republic of Memory by Mahmud El Sayed which is a fascinating world (spaceship) to dive into. What are you reading at the moment?

They’re packaging it like this so it looks like a shallow trend, but Gen Z has gone through two financial crises, a pandemic, rising fascism, active shooter drills since they were toddlers, and are now being told by the oligarchy they’re to be replaced by robots. Socialism is the logical conclusion.
The next generation of illiberal leftism is gaining ground. It is time to fight back econ.st/3RPYFPV
So many options… Man Who Sold the World by Nirvana? Soft Cell’s version of Tainted Love? The Raincoats’ Lola? To many, I can’t choose!
Name your fav cover song.
Good morning Blue Sky! Hope you’re all ok? Today I’m currently reading The excellent The Republic of Memory by Mahmud El Sayed. What are you reading at the moment?
I think the AIs may have jumped the gun if this is the takeover attempt
It's all kicking off in Canterbury.
A billionaire Trump mega-donor is set to make millions from Thames Water’s takeover bid. Overseas hedge fund lenders are demanding more power to pollute our waters, dodge fines and hike bills to service debt. Privatised water is a scam. Bring it back into public hands.
This has been a bit of a campaign issue - Brian Cant got one. #GiveDerekABafta @cameronyardejnr.bsky.social
