In NY, what looked like "problems with Black voters"—once other variables are considered—turns into "problems with homeowners, business owners, and elders" and a relative strength with renters, wage workers, and the young.
In these stories, too much gets assumed about people's preferences and predilections based on some characteristics (Black, income level) while others get ignored (age, homeownership, business ownership).
