See this is why I wrote a script about stuff happening on this list, because this shit just seems to be a daily occurrence without recourse or repercussions, sorry for being a downer but I need to talk about it!!!!

just realizing they did this “merger” nonsense on a day in which the majority of the town has not eaten since last night, like an entourage episode from the seventh layer of hell

Did Bonta get ANYTHING from Ellison? Because the 30-films-a-year deal that is being reported has been promised for months, and the "editorial board" overseeing CBS and CNN means nothing without teeth. To me it sounds like Ellison threatened to move Paramount out of CA, and Bonta and Newsom folded.

By the time this merger ruins HBO, destroys WB, gets 5,000 people fired, moves production overseas, and guts the quality of the movies the new studio makes, most people will have forgotten how fast the AGs caved and how little they got in this deal. Writers will not.

Paramount has reportedly reached a settlement with California and other states suing to block its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros

The State AGs were on pace to kill the Paramount/Warner Bros by litigation and delay until Gavin Newsom stepped in and turned the tide. Now the Trump loyalist Ellisons will control CNN and HBO. Don't ever, ever forget that Newsom stabbed us in the back www.wsj.com/business/med...

The time to push candidates toward more progressive policies is NOT after they get in office. It’s before. We have to look out for everybody. That may include a type of person that is not in your life!

Coyote vs. Acme is so well-timed: The billionaires are the "humans" and the rest of us are the "cartoons." The cartoons are resilient and don't fight back collectively when abused, exploited, and tested on to make products & profits better for the humans, until they learn others are making stands.

The reasons for opposition vary, but: People want to breathe clean air and have clean water to drink. They want to enjoy being outdoors. They don't want to hand everything -- their income, their work, their schools, their communities, their freedom, their planet -- to tech billionaires.

Coyote vs. Acme is not only hilarious and a delight to behold, it also nails its emotional beats harder than basically any grown-up fare you’ve seen this year? Trying to vault this as a tax write-off has to be one of the more anti-art decisions from an entertainment exec this century

What horseshit. She embraced gay people at the height of the AIDS crisis, embraced trans people at the height of the war against them, supported Black communities and artists, and wrote the most pro-worker's rights feminist pop song of all time. Neutral my ass
