A lot of people today talking about an awful person who died but i want to make everyone aware of a good person who died: Northern Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket, who you should all look up if you don’t know. 10/10 all around wife guy, dad, granddad, and just a generally solid person

Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

Don't try and ask why some people are allowed to be horrible, racist, cruel and hateful towards minorities, and still get "yeah but he was a bloody good bloke" from the dinner party lads. Don't go looking for some secret reason. They just think they should be allowed to do it.

If I'd been a friend of Liddle's I'd probably be asking myself why I was friends with someone who was clearly a cunt, rather than having a go at people on here for merely pointing out he was a cunt, and being dead doesn't change that.

So, Elon, you’ve hoarded more wealth than any other human on the planet. What will you do next? Solve world hunger? Donate to life-saving scientific projects? Build some libraries perhaps? ‘I’m gonna make a shitty, artless AI version of The Odyssey where Helen of Troy is DEFINITELY white’.

We must remember the Utøya massacre, and remember it for what it was: a far-right attack specifically targeted against democratic socialist activists. Today, the ideologies of its perpetrator are openly espoused by a global network of nationalist oligarchs as they wage war on democratic societies.

Fifteen years ago today, 77 lives were taken - most of them young - on an island that should have been a place of summer, friendship, and first ideas about the world they wanted to build. On that day, Norway grieved, and Europe grieved with it. Utøya. Oslo. We remember.

Question: Why do most countries in South America have people that are Black, white, indigenous, and mixed, but Argentina (and Uruguay) seem super white? Answer: Blanquemiento. History tends to only talk about the ethnic cleansing campaigns that *almost* worked. It skips over ones that *did* work

That the same David Blunkett who colluded with the Sun to demonise refugees and famously shrieked "machine gun the lot of them" on the phone about a prison riot? Said towns were being swamped with migrants? Said Roma had to change their behaviour? Has Burnham just declared himself a racist prick?

Andy Burnham and his chief of staff James Purnell have "described themselves as Blunkettites" after the former Home Secretary, the Times reports

I fucking guarantee you that this was a burglary gone wrong because no anarchist thinks there is a strategic value to murdering a 78 year old minor politician, but that doesn't matter, cos now Psycho Baz from 2 Para and Dave the Racist are on Facebook planning to nailbomb my local social centre.

Really responsible reporting here. Fucking brilliant stuff. Definitely doesn't feel like I'm gonna get dragged out of my home and beaten to death by nazis.

Deeply saddened to learn of the loss of my dear friend Satan, the Prince of Lies. Though we often disagreed about matters such as the appropriate role of torture in the afterlife, I will most remember how his quick wit and affable nature made our weekly golf outings a ritual. He will be missed.

I actually don't think it's great for a democracy if someone is allowed to get away with incitement to racial violence, protected and boosted by the media, for over two decades, until they decide they're sick of him and root out one of the scandals they've had in a desk drawer.

When something is so obviously a terrible idea, it is ok to just...say no thanks and ban it. We don't have to wait 15 years and then slowly ban if after a whole bunch of irreperable damage has been done to individuals and society.
