Insomniac will likely launch 4 games this generation in the gap between Naughty Dog's last and next release, and all I can think about is a podcast episode where Tim Schafer interviewed Ted Price (before he left Insomniac) and Ted talking about how much work they did to reduce crunch at Insomniac.
The sheer scale of a billion dollars can be hard to understand. Let me put it in perspective for you. You would have to earn a dollar a day for a billion days straight to have that much money.

I write middle-grade whodunnits, so you might want to dismiss my opinion out of hand. But I think cosy games/crime sometimes miss the fact that blankets are only cosy when it's cold outside. A world without conflict / a story without stakes isn't cosy, it's just safe.

It's a weird world where the shittier a piece of software looks, the more I trust it. The fancy looking ones? They're going to steal my data or extort me in pricing or just not work. Crappy looking tools made by some random dude? This shit is going to get the job done and do nothing else.
