Screencap from dontpastetheai.com When someone asks you something, they want your answer. Not a wall of unedited ChatGPT output. A short reply from you beats a long one from a model, every time. What's happening Someone asked you a real question. You popped it into a chatbot, copied the answer, and sent it back. It felt fast. It felt helpful. And it usually isn't. The person on the other side has the same tools you do. If they wanted the generic answer, they would have gotten it in four seconds. They asked you because they wanted your take on it... Your context, your taste, your judgement. The world is filled with people that don't want to read or think about things, don't be one of them.

Remember that an LLM is basing the solutions on the most common patterns within the data it was trained on. Expert humans within a field often have the better answers.

If I ask a question within a forum for humans and you respond with "<chatbot> said this: ..." I will get offended. I could have asked an llm directly (or maybe I already did) but instead I choose to ask professional humans about it. It's just the same a responding "google it". Please stop

People won't push back because their friends are there. In some cases a large important part of their life is there. This is why capitalism in the current form isn't working for social media. We live on a bunch of autocracy islands and we are too afraid to leave.

This is essentially the entire AI bubble: "If it were opt-in, nobody would opt-in." The tech industry is deeply unhealthy when this is accepted as normal, and clearly these people feel no shame about it. Let's push back and show them the cost of being this anti-consumer.

my humble opinion is that if people took the time to understand react server components, they would see that 90% of websites would net benefit from their architecture. you only have to learn how they work once. most of the cost is cognitive, not architectural.

Really fantastic writeup by @moh-kohn.eurosky.social about the power of HTML-first sites (and @astro.build!) My humble opinion is that 90% of websites don't need Next.js, React, or other hefty client-side frameworks—they just need static pages and the occasional form

I think with more resources in react Sebastian and Andrew could have kept their laser focus on the end game while extra resources could have focused on finishing up the individual pieces in between with hooks and docs and whatnot.

I don't remember if I talked this thing in a conference or a tweet, but my original motivation was data fetching with suspense. RSC was told as an official solution for data fetching, and because there's no way to develop a "library" for it, I ended up developing a "framework".

I'm sorry but fuck off with this. There's only one way to distribute apps on iOS and if you don't get enough attention then you can't use it? If you think my toy app is a waste of your resources then I'll happily take another way to distribute my app.
