I think a lot of the problem is these people (Mayor and Co) see themselves through the national lens, when their local reality is very different. Every capital L liberal will line up to declare they’re not conservative, but it’s just semantics detached from the local reality.

At least two people have filed complaints against Day with the Secretary of State’s office in the past week. Both alleged that Day used his position as a public employee to “promote or oppose” a person’s election campaign, in violation of a state law.
