Gene Buckle once said, "Some people collect things for a hobby. Geeks collect hobbies." That pretty much works as a description of me.
Why buy Trump Steaks and Trump Bibles and Trump Shoes when you can go straight to the heart of the matter and buy Trump Bribes straight from the source?

On August 4, 1987, the Federal Communications Commission rescinds the Fairness Doctrine which required radio and television stations to give equal time to opposing views. A year later, Rush Limbaugh debuted with his national, syndicated program across 56 radio stations. Radio was never the same.
"[T]he evidence is quite clear that voters don’t think Democrats are too extreme. They think Democrats are weak."
Moderate Democrats have a choice to make
Do they want to help their party win, or do they want to whine about the left?

I know this would be closing the barn door after he horse has been reelected president, but if Democrats win both chambers I'd really like to see a concurrent resolution deeming January 6 an insurrection under 14(3). 1/
I visited Dounreay Nuclear power plant as a school child 48 years ago. It stopped generating in 1994, yet it is still being decommissioned, with a workforce of 1,000+. So don't tell me that wind power curtailment is expensive, or about the landfill of benign, end of life, turbine blades.
Immigrants haven't taken your job. A company fired you for cheap labor to maximize profits. That's it. The most absurd part is how people still blame immigrants. The company didn't even have to pay them to.
Y'know what? I've had a change of heart. If Repubs want to say McConnell is still alive, I'm good with it. If Kentuckians don't want representation in Congress, that's their business. If they lose a vote in the Senate just to pretend he's okay, that means a saner government for the rest of us.

Democrats are demanding that the Kentucky Republican resign. Others who were sidelined for far longer faced no such calls, but times are changing.

THIS is Republican masculinity. Stay silent for two years about a man abusing your daughter until it’s no longer politically advantageous to support him.
After Max Miller’s statement, Bernie Moreno finally issues a statement denouncing Miller, saying he needs psychological help and should not be in Congress.
It's pretty infuriating that Trump is denying disaster aid to Oregon for political reasons and I have barely heard anything about it, while Biden was falsely accused of doing the exact same thing to North Carolina and millions of people believed that
Language is a living, adaptable medium. Sometimes it mutates.
I don’t care whether this actually happened or not. I want it to be true.
🚨 NEWS: In a new court filing, Capital One says Donald Trump’s accounts were closed in 2021 after months of analysis by its anti-money laundering (AML) professionals, not because of politics, as Trump has long claimed. 1/
Zooming in a bit so it’s clearer to people that these evacuation zones are now in pretty urban neighborhoods.
🧵 If you don't know about Smedley Butler and the Business Plot, I'm glad I get to help you learn.
#ResistanceRoots Major General Smedley Butler was born on this day in 1881 in West Chester, Pa. One of the most decorated figures in U.S. Marine Corps history, he transformed into an anti-war activist and whistleblower. He exposed a plot by wealthy men to overthrow FDR and install a dictator. /1

New from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
"A concentration camp, in its most basic definition, is a place where a targeted civilian population, not necessarily accused of a crime, is detained and at least some of their basic rights are suspended," writes @jwashing.bsky.social. "That’s precisely what’s happening in the United States today."

If you ever want to know why the right accuses protesters of being paid agitators, it's because they do stuff like this. Literally had their $1300 court side seats paid for by right wing money.
Oh, so those girls at the Seattle Storm game were being obnoxious the entire time trying to provoke people and filming the reactions for content. Of course.
There's a real sense that Trump is running into serious limits on his power right now on many fronts. So I asked @davidkurtz.bsky.social: Are we constraining Trump, or not? His answer is so, so good. I pushed back and he went with it well. Check it out on the pod: newrepublic.com/article/2137...
Back in 2020, as a pediatric hematologist married to a physician, we signed up to volunteer in a field hospital for patients with COVID. We wrote our wills and worried about getting our kids sick. I posted about terrifying outcomes in kids and received death threats. Fauci is a goddamn hero.
