People do realize that estrogen makes you grow breasts, right? I am fucking *begging* people to think for *five fucking seconds* about the incredibly obvious consequences of putting a 16 year old with breasts in a sports league consisting entirely of 16 year old boys.

this is, ofc, exactly why trans women and girls deserve a place in womens and girls sports. we are subjected to all the same sexual harassment and abuse cis women and girls are—oftentimes *before* we ever come out—and deserve to play sports with our peers in an environment safe from it

No one on this site has been able to give me a coherent answer why my rights as an undocumented immigrant are worth throwing overboard for trans rights. I thought we were all in this together, but talking to a lot of people on this site has been like talking to someone holding a gun to their head.

you see the challenge implicit in this comic, right? what if we could be good at writing software rather than bad? perhaps, and I know 99% of all engineers will be mad at me for this, we could write proofs? proofs are expensive? if only there was a technology that made proving things cheap

People like to point at the xkcd comic with the block tower held up by a tiny project maintained by one guy but I actually think this one explains far more about the state of digital infrastructure

ken paxton asked texas for a list of everyone who changed the sex on their driver's license. james talarico said sports should be "safe and fair." the best thing for trans rights this year is beating paxton

Saw somebody claiming that Talarico isn't lying like Obama did on marriage equality because sports participation is rolling back rights, and just, does everyone have amnesia and forgot that Texas forced Mack Beggs to wrestle girls even though he was on testosterone?

"there's no point trying for a Dem governor when the GOP will likely have a veto-proof majority in the legislature" and "there's no point trying for more Dem legislators under a Republican governor" are about equally asinine imo Trying and failing > giving up ahead of time That's why we're alive

And who will maintain those majorities regardless of who wins the governors race? Nothing substantive changes for trans people with a dem governor.

Approximating the Lorenz attractor with a chaotic leaky water wheel. The orange dot is the centre of mass of the water. It traces (a projection of) the familiar attractor as the wheel spins seemingly randomly left and right.

Anything i learn about a Dem nominee after they won their primary but before the general election is against my will The time for figuring shit out about the candidates and fighting about it is during the primary. After that, their job is to win over the marks, and what they say isn't for my ears.
