When your party leader is a president with historically low approval ratings, who has raised prices through tariffs and wars, uses disaster relief and science grants to punish states that didn’t vote for him, and has agents shooting people in the streets, this is what you do.

Abdul El-Sayed was outspent 9-to-1 by AIPAC and corporate Super PACs in the most expensive Senate Democratic primary of all time. Last night, he proved that organized people can beat organized money.

El-Sayed, Lawrence and McKinney all won progressive campaigns in Michigan last night by talking about climate and clean energy like it was a kitchen-table issue — because skyrocketing energy bills and endless wildfire smoke matter to people.

El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"

Two hours in the dentist's chair give you plenty of thinking time. Like about how much federal $$$ going to universities for research paid off in things like a camera that can recreate all your teeth on a computer screen as you watch. (And especially like improved anesthesia.)

El-Sayed: We live in an era where we continue to see a few very small people try to define America as being as small as they are. We can't control the past 250 years. What we can do is build the next 250

Hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing climate fires across Europe and North America. Meanwhile the planet burners are making record profits. And they are hitting up the Canadian taxpayers for $100 billion for another pipeline. www.theguardian.com/business/ng-...

If this spot in Hell’s Kitchen is still becoming a 3000 seat arena dedicated to ABBA, NYC should definitely take another queue from Sweden and mandate that it has good transit access. Currently there is one bus that runs every ~45min on good days. There's a reason Gotham West food hall died.

I don't have hills to die on, but I feel rawther strongly about this (👇🏻), especially in notes sections and bibliographies that are still, as many do not anymore, including publisher locations that can't be set city-only.

#copyediting tutorial Those two-letter all-cap state abbreviations (ME, NY, CA, FL, GA, SC, etc.) are fine for envelopes and parcels. For all other uses, please avail yourself of the tried and true human-looking abbreviations: Me., N.Y., Cal. or Calif., Fla., Ga., S.C., also etc.
