After a solid run of about 13 years at Double Fine, It seems I have found myself with an abundance of free time. If you know anyone hiring for games VFX, please let me know!

@omichron.bsky.social
Gameplay Programmer previously at Double Fine Productions. This is not a work account but people seem to like to know what I do for a living, and now I guess I'm out of work so one day I'll update my linked in at https://www.linkedin.com/in/silvioterra/
I suppose this is as good a time as any to update my profile information, seeing as I was one of the 23 people laid off by Double Fine today. Twelve years ended today. I wish it could have been twelve years more.
OK this i wasn’t expecting. BEST UI AND TYPOGRAPHY I’VE SEEN IN A WHILE …and in GREEK 🇬🇷 ?!?! Who is responsible?! Who @timoflegend.bsky.social ?! @doublefine.com ? I need to hug them. Thank you. THANK YOU! P.S. Tim, don’t worry, you’re still getting a hug too. Honestly, this brightened my day.
What I need now is for Valve to release a simple app that does one simple thing: SteamMachineCompare. Just let me know how WHATEVER I RUN THAT APP ON compares to the Steam Machine. #steammachine #valve #steam #gabecube #valvebox
I recommend reading this to get an idea of just how insidiously misinformation can spread into even the 'old' internet; the web pages that existed prior to the rise of LLM (or even automated) content hallofdreams.org/posts/physic...
PhysicsForums and the Dead Internet Theory
An exposé no one will read, about the widespread falsification of user posts in PhysicsForums, a scientific community founded in 2001. This is a microcosm of the death of the human-written Internet.

Years ago (2017 or prior) I saw a post (I gotta assume Twitter) that consisted of someone writing English as if it was Korean. Not using Hangul to write English words, but arranging Latin alphabet letters in blocks following rules similar to Hangul. Anyone have ANY clue about it?
Goodness, if the President has a serious health problem I certainly hope he follows the expert medical advice of his Secretary of Health and Human Services

@unreal-garden.com I don't know if it's an issue with bsky.app or what, but all your previews lately are showing up as 405 Not Allowed. Clicking on the link opens them up fine. This seems to have changed about 4 days ago?
Hard not to feel some great dishonesty at play here. When I'm logged into my work account or incognito, I get one set of ratings for the Battle.net app (2.3 stars too many in my opinion) while in my home account, it shows me much higher ratings (3.7 stars), WHILE CLAIMING THE SAME REVIEWS (139k)
Have reached the "Fuck it, I'll rewrite the entire animation system" phase of fixing this bug.
I'd like to bring this video to your attention. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyco... It's doing pretty significant numbers for what it is, so while I understand sharing it won't make a difference for those knee-deep in the cult of personality, I'd say it has a better-than-average chance of resonating.

I wonder if we'll ever be ready for the conversation that the phenomenon of "Not recommended, 759.5 hours played" steam reviews isn't necessarily because gamers are weird, but because a lot of games are designed to be addictive and numbing, but not necessarily very fun.
Fun fact of the day: easiest way to see a rainbow is to look at your head's shadow. Technically the bow will be above it. Try to do it with a lot of mist (a house helps) and on a sufficiently sunny day you can even get to see it form a full circle.
I paid sixty dollars for No Man's Sky nine years ago and they refuse to stop making the video game. I've begged them to go home to their families but they won't stop adding new kinds of weird little guys and like, optimizing the gentle patter of rain on an alien ocean. Please let me pay for a DLC
