Holy smokes. Yeah if you are in archaeology or anthropology and I see you sign this petition, you will be called out and hounded. Cofnas is a gutter racist who led the online charge against Prof Arday and deserves consequences for his horrific behavior. Everyone who signs can rot in hell.

There’s a petition signed by more than one hundred academics (& counting!) in support of Nathan Cofnas—the racist who instigated the pile on that led to J. Arday’s death—because he lost his postdoc. Apparently there’s nothing a white man can do that deserves consequences.

If this isn’t a canary in the coal mine re: the economy, I don’t know what is: Stopped by a Habitat for Humanity thrift store to ask about donating some furniture. Clerk told me they’ve been so inundated by people downsizing, the earliest they could pick up a donation is… December. Holy shit.

For those who wonder, the text recognition on phones is done on device so if you ever want to turn a meme or screenshotted text into plain text you can just press the assistant key and use search screen then highlight the text.

Have tickets for The Odyssey, this will be my fifth and hopefully first successful attempt. I’ve driven over 1,000 miles collectively through some of the most difficult journeys I’ve ever had, and honestly I just want to be home with my wife. So I feel like I’m the only person seeing it as intended

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.
