Pronounced like the disappointingly heterosexual Nerina Pallot song. Writer -- ROMANITAS (modern Roman empire) MARS EVACUEES & SPACE HOSTAGES (kids & robots in space!) various scripts for Big Finish plus a movie you can't see yet.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

I have just been helping to read bedtime stories in both French and English to a small child, and the French one is literally: Now learn your cheeses, while the English one is: Paddington is put in a stressful situation and doesn't say anything because one can't possibly.

This is exactly how I talk about it too! I've seen Gen AI try to write good comms and it's always completely terrible (see - most of LinkedIn, a bunch of the newer FB 'nz politics influencer' types.

Screenshot of a tumblr post reading: recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

It really doesn't make sense to attribute those job losses to AI-the-technology, because if that were the case we'd be observing AI outputs displacing conventional entertainment products, and they're clearly not. Rather, the impact of AI is that AI-the-business is crowding out other investment.

Hollywood has suffered the most in the AI era—with the movie & TV industry losing more than 100k jobs, nearly one-third of the sector’s total employment, over the last four years. Total employment in video production is approaching the fthe lowest levels in 30 years

A few years ago we were actively working to dismantle systemic racism which is discreet, complicated and takes a lot to understand and legislate against. We had taken the conversation to a very sophisticated place. Now we're back asking the state to enforce the fucking law, which is easy!!

We’re just in a position where the far right are trying to murder people on the streets or at sea and the government have had almost nothing to say about it. It’s all on fucking video you can watch them do it!

labour: the working class will never buy all this pronoun nonsense meanwhile on earth, a guy doing food delivery just asked me unprompted, in broken english, about my trans door sticker because "i want to help the people being attacked"

So, if you meet a pair of writing partners at a professional event who are interested in collaborating with you on a project and happen to be a man and a woman, and the man follows up with you by email, maybe don't reply by referring to the woman (whose name is RIGHT THERE) as "Your Wife."
