Inouye Solar Telescope, features as small as 19 km across can be resolved. The wispy things are magnetic field boundaries formed by Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities. The island of Ireland for scale.

The 2015 Little Brown Jug game. It was on Halloween night in Minneapolis, and that was the best atmosphere of any Gophers game I’ve been to. In years. And yes, the end of the game sucked. But I was SO entertained.

This is the same reason why The Godfather sucks as a movie: The characters all talk about being honorable family men but they don't act that way. Total failure.
I think the takeaway from this recent set of primaries is that running against Republicans is good and running against other Democrats is bad. Notably, this means that as a progressive, you might have an easier time because moderates turn fire on you first because you back things voters like.
The second Trump era has, if nothing else, been a good illustration of the idea that the people at the top echelons of society, in finance, law, higher education, politics, etc., are often the most credulous fools you can imagine.

you can tell because not one word in any of these blog posts is about evals or reproducibility. "i gave ten different orchestrators the same spec and hand-reviewed their final outputs and costs" is a great way to figure out what works, but slowing down long enough to test that is NOT AN OPTION
i'm a subscriber to the verge but i think the written excerpt posted here is a little unfair here. "we have an open protocol we want anyone to be able to build on" isn't really the same as saying "we want nazis on here". most of his response is actually about their work on live events like sports
this is an interesting interview and if i were clipping it for social media i would have excerpted "We're still a place where we don't downrank links. We love sending traffic to people. We send two million clicks a day to publishers" rather than the part that'll just piss people off lol

You gotta watch the video because he actually doesn't say what is insinuated here and I think it's pretty nuanced, and not about everyones knee jerk "they want nazis here"
