Third time’s the charm.

As a reminder, in 2020, more than 60 people accused Warren Ellis of grooming and sexual impropriety, coming together to create the website somanyofus.com. In its most recent update, in 2023, the site posted: "To the best of our knowledge, Warren Ellis took none of the steps we hoped he would."

🧵 A nice thread on probably my favorite comics event. Legacy, hope, and optimism (DC’s strengths) are on full, unapologetic display.

#EventsDearBoy 5. DC ONE MILLION (1998, DC) This is the Grant Morrison event where they play nicely with others, crafting a fantastical future for the DC Universe and opening its gates for other creators to have fun with. And they do - no other event has such an excellent tie-in hit-rate

Have been a member of the @whca.bsky.social almost continuously since the 1990s. Our mission is to defend the First Amendment rights of White House correspondents to report on the president without fear or favor. Unfortunately last night did not advance that cause. Time to rethink the dinner.

Now I wanna go just for this. Evan was kind enough to introduce me to Mr. Cowan a few years ago and I got to tell him how much I loved QUESTION as a lad of 12/13 and he was like, “SON, HOW DEPRESSED WERE YOU?!” A+ interaction, no notes, great guy.

Money's tight and I wasn't going to do SDCC this year. But when one of your heroes gets inducted into the industry's Hall of Fame and asks you to moderate his spotlight panel, you find a way. Gonna make sure @denyscowan.bsky.social gets his flowers.

FML is one of the most sincere, funny, uplifting, heartbreaking, heartfelt, wry, life-affirming (its an absolute torrent of emotions that will absolutely sweep you away) comics out there right now, & cheers to my brilliant pal @kellysue.bsky.social & @davidlopez.me on a stellar first arc. READ IT.

It has been immensely baffling to see people talking about this stuff as though it’s a real set of grievances and not a handful of whiners with an outsized platform. (Corollary: It does feel like this summer has finally proved that Twitter bears no relation to reality.)

THE ODYSSEY's instantly, predictably enormous success is Exhibit #32176 that the right wing's grievance-farming operation is not some great American cultural shift. Most people don't give a shit about their petty crusades.

Persepolis was read all over the world—a true international phenomenon. Assigned in every class subject under the sun. During the Obama years, West Point cadets were assigned the book. There's never been anything like it; never anyone like her. What an awful world that couldn't hold her longer.
