We’re having climate change conversations with friends every single day right now. Everyone is looking for ways to try and climate-disaster proof their homes. But our govs keep insisting this is a non-issue, not worth investing in. Why isn’t this anxiety showing up in polling?

I'm in Calgary for their folk music festival, but sadly hiding inside d/t wildfire smoke. Two weeks ago, extreme heat ruined Winnipeg folk fest. 2025, Winnipeg FF was extreme smoke. 2024, Calgary's was. I mourn summer as I knew it.

So OP is 100% right. Kids need someplace where they can go and be kids, where they can hang with their friends in a safe place, without judgement. It’s really a very simple solution except for the fact that no politician is willing to try it.

My old boss was the branch manager for one of the libraries with expanded hours. She said once word got out, the place was hopping late at night. People just hanging out. They also offered some nighttime programs. The grant money was enough to keep this going for 6 months (2/ )
