Does replacing parking with bike-lanes hurt restaurant business? Of course not, as this new peer-reviewed STUDY of 15 years of Montreal data showed. ACTUALLY, downtown experienced significant restaurant growth after bike lanes were installed. @momentummag.bsky.social momentummag.com/do-bike-lane...

Courageous changes to improve our city. Can have massive impacts. Well done @london.gov.uk !
The toxic air our children were breathing was stunting their lungs. For too many young Londoners, that was the reality before the ULEZ. New independent findings show their lung health has improved significantly in Central London. That’s the difference cleaner air can make.
We've genuinely been told by senior politicians' people, and by big logistics firms, that tolerating modern slavery has an upside: it lets undocumented migrants come here and work. (How about we let people come and make a contribution — legally — instead of accepting slavery as the price of it?)
On BBC Radio 4's Moral Maze tonight: “Slavery - Right or Wrong?” Some people say it’s morally wrong. On the other hand, it makes a tonne of money. On the panel: Edward Colston, King Leopold II, Tommy Robinson and Matt Goodwin. Join us as we discuss one of the great moral dilemmas of the day.
Always heard good things about @pedalme.bsky.social. Disclaimer: never actually used them and don’t live in England. I just love the concept.
Anyone had a particularly good experience with movers in North London and have their details?
@pedalme.bsky.social with their bike's distinctive name plate getting pap'd by TfL's cycleway C4 traffic camera at the junction of Tooley Street and Boss Street (south of Tower Bridge) (10 secs traffic cam vid as folk on their bikes and cargo bikes cross the cycleway junction)
I'm amused by the effort to try and track a single black taxi across zone 1 ... ... however, I've just spotted what looks like a @pedalme.bsky.social bike on the Sky feed

Vision Zero Action Plan 2 launches - London Cycling Campaign
lcc.org.uk
The final thing you need to know about VZAP 2 is what TfL aren't saying out-loud, the need to cut motor traffic 🚘 To meet their target for "80 per cent of trips to be made by walking, cycling and public transport by 2041”, the private motor vehicle mode share needs to be half what it is now...
Work related road risk is another big issue that TfL are looking to solve in VZAP 2, with the plan setting out a new commitment to get boroughs to sign-up to the latest lorry safety standards 🚛 A great idea, and one we've been campaigning for for years: lcc.org.uk/campaigns/en...
Next up, VZAP 2 is also going big on 'zones', so LTNs and School Streets 🏫 In fact, the plan goes so far as to commit to 200 more School Streets, bringing the total to 1,000 (and now including secondary schools) - a big ✅ from us on that one...
🧵📢 NEWS: TfL and @london.gov.uk publish Vision Zero Action Plan 2, setting out plans for zero road casualties in London... 🤔 Our take on it? Broadly, we're in favour, and TfL are making some bold promises - the first of those being a doubling of the cycle network by 2035 🚲
