extreme income inequality is bad for a lot of reasons but today the one i'm mad at is people having the wealth and power to force me to live inside their delusions
"Did you even read the article" is always a funny scold because editors and producers know that most people only read heds or leads or watch clips, which means they know what message they want out there regarding the topic at hand. And they know the scolds will come to their defense of a dogshit hed
I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

there are definitely downsides to the nuclear block but the reason I keep coming back to it as necessary and good is that it completely ruined the whole MAGA engagement model to the point that they prefer to mock us from the nazi bar rather than come here to troll us directly

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.
During COVID, medical workers filled latex gloves with warm water so the dying could feel like their hands were being held by another person as they died alone in hospitals pushed to the brink of collapse. People who downplay the horrors of the pandemic to focus on its inconveniences are fools.

ethics rules for my wife, a community college teacher: ironclad. strictly enforced ethics rules for government: what? lol makes me the joker every time she tells me about turning away a thankful/appreciative student gift because hey, that's quite against the law!

Reality TV and influencer culture that blurs the line between fake and real are bad for us. Acting as a voyeur of fake interpersonal drama is bad for us. Framing our lives in narrative arcs is bad for us. Commercializing and performing our emotions is bad for us. Giving up privacy is bad for us.

I don't want a "Smart Fridge" that orders milk for me. I want a fridge that lasts 25 years and doesn't have a privacy policy that allows it to share my late-night snacking habits with my health insurance provider.
