Lewis arguing the schools should have been open. Boris and Keir were arguing the same. The schools opened for just one day at the start of January 2021 - enough for covid to be spread further and we entered a third lockdown. That winter was really bleak
If they get the chance to botch the next one, the RFK Jrs will blame everyone else for that one, too. They say that the Covid-19 response was so overblown and unnecessary that it caused them to miss a real one. The Lewises will try to nod along.

Almost 1,500 people died of it in one day that month, within sight of the vaccine. I remember the hacks talking darkly about how there would be Hell To Pay when people realised what Boris Johnson had done and how incompetent and malicious his government was (there was not Hell To Pay).
The assertion that it would all have been fine if we’d just done less to protect people is absolutely vile, and is part of a concerted rightwing effort to make sure the next pandemic is worse.
Remember, in January 2021, after the govt lost control of Covid infections for the second time, a thousand people a day were dying in the UK. Without lockdowns, we still had no means of slowing that explosion. And that’s apart from all the other ways this claim is just stupid.

The decisions in the early stage to send infected people back into care homes caused a mass extinction event for the elderly.

The only reason BlueSky is a thing is that it gave people fleeing Nazi Twitter a plug-and-play place to reconnect with the people and formerly good parts of Twitter they enjoyed without turning every conversation into an edge lord fight club of bigotry.

Recently, in #BBC Science Focus feature, Prof. Stephen Faraone explains that this relationship is likely shaped by a mix of genetics, lifestyle and biology.
And the blueprint used by the Cass opinion piece, that dismantled trans healthcare, is now used for ADHD. We have a BBC that spilt propaganda on the "over-diagnosis epidemic" and multiple "reviews" that tried to manufacture the NHS evidence to delegitimize the idea of adult ADHD.

it's just open season on people with adhd now people with adhd as their main condition make up 2.5% of pip claims so it's hardly the explosion they're making it out also note: main, not sole, condition. adhd pip claim success rates are 43% - you usually have to have a comorbid condition to succeed

Fucking irresponsible. After this airs, those of us who work in this field will be inundated with terrified and upset parents and carers in particular. Hope it's worth it for C4 because this is unbelievably irresponsible.
