Again of the ~45K gun deaths in the US each year, here is the approximate breakdown. We spend all this time talking about mass shootings, and "inner city🤡" gun violence. But we spend almost no time talking about the suicide. We just pretend that it's not there. But that's the "Guns in Vermont."

[CW: update suicide stats] The US has ~45 gun deaths a year. ~1K from mass shootings ~15K from homicides ~30K from suicide Man + alone + depression + alcohol + access to firearm = at risk. The most likely victim of any US firearm, is its owner. Second most, is a family member.😢

The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.

here's a fun lil exercise for cis people: how many articles would a publication have to print calling for your extermination before you would expect people who care about you to stop giving them money? and how would you feel if their excuse for still supporting them is some fuckass crossword puzzle?

we fell for this the last ten times - the way political journalists perform for each other and not the public interest - and call it democracy lmao as tho any of us need to hear corporate media amplify and sanitise Hanson and then normalise their amplification of Hanson via shitshows like this.

#PaulineHanson: There's a lot of media here. Are you really concerned the #ABC aren't here? Journalist: In a #democracy shouldn't all #media have access to a press conference particularly if you're, as you say, running to form a government in the November state election? #AUSPOL #SpringSt #PHON
