Many people cite the post Jackie, per-expansion era as baseball's golden age and the Yankees were pretty much in the World Series every year and won most of them. We have way more competitive balance now and the Dodgers still only have 1/3 odds despite historic advantages. People need to get a girp.

Is everyone aware of the General Motors streetcar conspiracy? In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.
