Academics need to be very careful about their relationships to AI. It's not just artists and authors they are stealing from.
Alejandra Caraballo@esqueer.net · 2w agoThe mathematicians, Tristan Buckmaster & Levent Alpöge had also used AI to advance their work but when OpenAI learned of the rumor they went ahead and tried to solve it themselves to beat them, it also offered Tristan an opportunity to publish if he left off Alpoge because he works at anthropic.
Are people fooled by these AI customer service agents that have more natural and less polished voices? There is a serious uncanny valley situation going on, and I personally would prefer a business be transparent about it being an AI.
This is just, like, my opinion, but I think everyone should be going out and snapping up the amazing deals on late model low mileage electric vehicles. Everything about driving my ID.4 is fantastic and comfortable and it's also the *cheapest* car I've ever owned, like cheaper than my 02 VW Jetta.

I just had a conference paper desk rejected by an automated system I believe to be an AI. The email said that the reasons for the desk rejection were listed at the end of the email. There were zero reasons listed. It's a reviewable paper. I'm not new at this. AI is really bad for reviewing.
I can buy twice as much chicken for the same price at Costco than I can at Cub, but I also have a place to store it. I have to admit that I have been kind of shocked at how expensive groceries are at the normal grocery store. Feels more like the shopping you do when you’re on vacation at a cabin.

There are some people who go so big with their lies that others just can't believe someone would attempt such a big lie. I've known these people personally and I've seen them heading federal agencies. It's our responsibility to not let them get away with it.

I cannot express how wild this quote is. This is a top tech analyst at a well-regarded firm saying that there is not enough capital to actually pay for all the stuff that NVIDIA and OpenAI has promised. It is so important that everybody realizes that *there is not enough money to do this*
