Hiroshige Tonomura / 殿村裕誠, the composer for Capcom's DuckTales, passed away in late December 2025. He was 63 years old. note.com/hatakjr/n/n1... vgmdb.net/artist/8070

I'm a few days behind (in life, always) but for anyone who missed it, this is a delightful interview with Sonic 3 enemy designer Satoshi Yokokawa It's wild how he can remember so many details about Mecha Sonic II 30+ years later, and the interviewers are clearly geeking out. Legit brightened my day

As much as Adobe deserves to be dunked on I really hate the whole "hey claude please copy this software for me lmao" shit that's going around right now. We don't need vibe coded adobe copies when good alternatives already exist. I hate Adobe, and I hate vibe coding.

For all the talks about Video Game preservation, I feel like mobile games often get left out of the conversation. Once their service ends, most are just gone. A few get lucky enough to get an offline version, and fewer still get remade into console games, but the rest become lost media. (1/2)
If this is anything more than just "we threw in Claude Code integration & a chatbot to appease investors", then Capcom is completely washed at this point. They did reject the idea of assets generated completely by AI, but it's hard to trust the wishy-washy wording even without the iffy translation.

I spotted a black & white photograph of what appears to be a SEGA factory that may date back to 1979, workers are assembling cocktail cabinets. The interior matches photos on the 1979 SEGA/Sovoda flyer from France. It's via a 1991 Mega Drive feature discussing 1979: archive.org/details/mega...
Exclusively They only want their games on systems where the profits go to kill kids directly I've tagged them about it multiple times, it seems like their entire business model now....so no response Don't support @argonautgames.com
I think it's a massive shame for @argonautgames.com to return only for them to announce that they're happy to support blowing up children.
they also made a limited edition version out of their attack drone metal and featuring anduril branding, making the connection as explicit as possible.
Also, he used to straight up advertise the connection on his website Maybe he still does 🤷

Just in case you didn't know ModRetro fucking sucks and "Automated War Initiative" is a disgusting title Also, War Crime Enthusiast Palmer Luckey is incredibly thin skinned and will chase you around various social media platforms if you talk sauce about him and his shitty M64. Worth it.

Today, I decided to dump all my thoughts about A.I. infecting the retro and Saturn scene into one cohesive article. In short, I am certifiably sick of this.
Is there any harm in using AI to work on — or entirely create — projects for the Sega Saturn and elsewhere in the retro gaming scene? Yes, PandaMonium says in this opinion column, equating such work to digital asbestos: www.segasaturnshiro.com/2026/09/24/c... #sega #saturn #segasaturn #retrogaming
This isn't even the worst thing Bird said in regards to John Misconduct:
Are y'all sure you wanna gas up Ray Gunn if Brad Bird is gonna tapdance around working with sexual predator John Lasseter? Are you? 🤨
Rewrite of an old article! Agartha Dreamcast, developed by No Cliché under Frédérick Raynal, was canceled after SEGA ended support for the console. Prototypes and developer testimonies now provide rare insight into its development: www.sega-dreamcast-info.com/en/agartha-dreamcast-prototype-release
Wrote about my feelings on Sora with an AR-15. I lament the decline of publishers Giving A Shit about brand image, and how this crossover is a quiet admission that KH's crossover magic no longer holds the lustre it once did in our post-MCU, Fortnite world: www.respec.net/feature/224-...

(1/3) People have been asking me about this redesigned GDEMU clone (Dreamcast ODE). So I bit the bullet, bought one, and tested it. Firstly, all of the "faster speeds" stuff is pure marketing bullshit. Timing is handled by GDEMU firmware, and it's delicate. You don't want to arbitrarily increase.
They fired so many artists over this too. People who helped make the game iconic were tossed out on the street because the Slop Faucet could do it "decent enough". If you still play Fortnite, you're funding the hyper-acceleration of AI replacing Artists in Gaming

@pandamonium.bsky.social You know what would be a great April Fools episode? A full review & retrospective of Pandamonium. And I mean the actual obscure and partially lost 1982 cartoon that your theme's a remix of. Featuring interviews with whoever of the cartoon's cast and crew are still alive.
We need to start aggressively shunning anyone even remotely associated with private equity firms bc they are RUINING EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE AND I AM TIRED

Yes! YES!!! "No, our original character would never do that" has given way to "how big is the cheque?" and it fucking sucks.
I dunno if this comes across as prudish but seeing Sora with a fuckin gun in Fortnite just makes me pine for the days when companies were more obsessive about brand safety & messaging. That character with a gun feels wrong; like it should only exist in a fan mod, not an official product.
Why do we call it an "arcade"? This question takes us back to the earliest days of coin-op amusement, the origin of recorded entertainment, and the tumultuous days of technology Trusts. Introducing: The First Arcade (maybe).
