Part of the problem is that 1/3rd of the populace was in his bag no matter what, and another 1/3rd chose to ignore the inherit danger of letting him win again. And another problem is that quite a few Dem politicians are spineless and don't have our best interests at heart for many reasons.

A lot of “I’m upset about inflation” was actually about pandemic-caused frictions of everyday life: supply chain problems, extra safety protocols, tight labor markets (in part bc of Trump’s immigration restrictions) lowering customer service, can’t get a Dr appt, unreliable public transit, etc
