I will be damned if I propose to be at the beck and call of every itinerant scoundrel who has two cents to invest in a postage stamp

New in our lost & found: —One (1) Tupperware container filled with pennies —Index card with a recipe for mashed potatoes, with the words "DO NOT MAKE. REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO NATHAN, HE STILL GETS SEISURES" [sic] written at bottom —Eyeglass case, empty

D&D peaked with the wiener-biting face-stabbing scorpadillo. And check out that snake. That's fucking peak snaking, I dare say. Heroes wore mawashi, kitty-ear head bands, and NOTHING ELSE. No scabbards no belts no backpacks. Grognards long for the golden age. An ago of wiener-biting & kitty ears

An important thing to keep in mind: the number of voters who vote Republican but would genuinely switch to Democrats if the Dems would drop trans rights is likely statistically negligible — throwing trans folks under the bus will almost certainly not help get Dems elected

Not really sure where a bunch of liberals got the idea that they can’t win without throwing trans people in the garbage, but they’re stupid and cruel and wrong. If you want a human sacrifice so damned bad put gavin newsom in the wicker man

Here’s my compromise position on trans sports: if it becomes an actual problem whereby trans athletes are crowding cis women off the podium, we can talk. But right now this is naked bigotry masquerading as a solution in search of a problem, and anyone pushing it can fuck off.

a lot of people act like there's a trade being offered where we give up trans athletes in sports and in exchange fascism is defeated forever

Okay so @defector.com has had an odd glitch since the site redesign a couple of weeks back where the wrong photo and headline are often put together on the main page and I was going to ask them about fixing it but this just happened and as far as I'm concerned they have to leave it as is.

Screenshot for a Defector podcast episode with the headline "Consider the Emotional Lives of Scallops" only the accompanying photo is a white gormless stubbled red-headed UK singer of recent notoriety giving a flat smile to the camera while wearing a washed out peach top as beige as he is against a flat background. So, actually, probably a scallop anyway.

I do think anyone who wants us to take Elizer Yudkowsky seriously as an authority on AI armageddon should be forced to testify on video that they have read the entirety of his 660,000 word rationalist Harry Potter fan fiction – written aged 30–34 – and still thinks the world needs his take.
