August is the forty year old man of months. The odd cool morning or a lone colourful tree is enough to warn of what’s to come. It rues the wasted days of June and July, but pretends Labour Day is still far in the future. The days are getting shorter, but not fast enough that one notices or worries.

Again, run for city council on the single issue of having washroom facilities at soccer pitches. Anyone who's ever had to pee in a port-o-potty in 30 degree heat will vote for you.
