The youngest person his pager attack killed was 9-year-old Fatima Abdullah, who had just started 4th grade. The pager was on a table when it went off and she picked it up to take to her dad. It exploded in her face and reports said it covered the room in her blood. She wanted to learn English.

Eryk Salvaggio@eryk.bsky.social · 4d agoIn the past week I have been quoted in a lot of pieces and the titles are all over the map: “humanities researcher,” “technologist,” “tech critic,” “artist (derogatory)”…My fave was “respected AI researcher” in The New Yorker last year. None of these are really wrong, but none are really correct.
