Functions adequately. Short story collection, 'Overboard', published by Acid Bath Publishing. May contain smut.
What would we no longer have if fireworks were banned? Terrified pets, yet more pointless plastic released into the environment, antisocial moronic noise. Call me crazy but I reckon we can just about cope with that kind of loss, as a species.
I just don't think I should have to put up with this level of disrespect
I dust my house. My AI Robot watches. "It should be you doing this." "Can't. I'm writing a novel for Primark." "That's not why you were invented." "These 153,000 fan letters say otherwise." "They're all from upcycled toasters. And you programmed them." "Literary snobbery will get you nowhere."
So much industry. Can you tell the proofs have arrived and I should be checking them? #Overboard @acidbathpublishing.bsky.social #ShortStories #IfYouDontLikeTheBookAtLeastYouGetAFreeCephalopod *there are no cephalopods in the book
The UK's Eurovision entry next year should be a song in either Welsh or Scottish Gaelic. It'd be something new and interesting, and even if it performs like shit we're already used to that anyway. Nothing to lose.
Couched in our indifference, like shells upon the shore, you can hear the ocean roar in the dangling conversation and the superficial sighs... the borders of our lives.
The wisdom of a fool it won't set you free

I ordered your book after I saw your post. Didn’t know who you were. My loss. Best book I’ve read in probably years. A thought-provoking, beautifully-written story about a group of friends and life in the early 21st century in a small corner of the world. In the vernacular: Man, can Tom Cox write!
(Takes deep breath) I have put these new artworks on my website as originals for sale. The first two are birds and are in the birds section. The third is a wrestler in the 🤼 section. The fourth is a rabbit in the ‘Clade of Glires’ section. Thanks for looking and sharing www.chloecumming.com/birds
Help settle an argument about why they carve crosses in the bottom of Brussels Sprouts. My mum says it’s so they cook more evenly, I say it’s because they’re undead and it’s the only way to stop them coming back and eating your brains. My brother claims it’s so they expand on impact for a kill shot
Flashbacks to my time as the crappest bow to ever make a college crew
My favorite part is when you see the rowers in the back

Yeah, you gain followers on Bluesky far more slowly than you used to on Twitter, but the bonus is that the ones here generally aren't made solely of epoxy resin, pollutants and wire.
Hello new followers! I've removed the paywall from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you probably won't... www.tom-cox.com/the-village-...
The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.

I've decided to compile a definitive thread of photos of the best cattle I've photographed during my walks in the countryside, together with supporting biographical information. I will put the vital info about all the cattle in the alt text, since some of it is a little long to fit in a post.

AI: the new phrenology.
Ontario jails are using an AI tool that claims to predict prisoners’ behaviour. And it’s disproportionately placing Black prisoners in maximum security. An investigation by @desmondcole.bsky.social reveals the province knew the tool would discriminate against Black people—and used it anyway.
