I believe in my heart that, for a non-zero percentage of genAI touts, feeling like they’re punishing creatives for daring to have “fun” jobs when they were forced into jobs they have no personal passion for is part of the draw. “There! Now you have to get a ‘real job,’ just like they made ME do!”

i think the people insisting that you *must* vote for a bad candidate because they are less bad instead of voting for a good candidate kinda dont understand what democracy is and kinda just want "oligarchy but with sports teams"
My hypothesis is that people are generally more predictable than they themselves would like to be, but less predictable than businesses would like them to be, and a lot of modern business is about building guiderails to increase that predictability ("personalisation" a big part of this)
When you're oblivious to the history of your own country, you get to lead it. It's the Western way.
