Since apparently this isn't making it beyond UK news yet, Rockstar petitioned a British court to section an 18 year old autistic kid under the mental health act for hacking their server and leaking a short GTA 6 clip a couple of years ago. No trial, no term of sentence, just locked up in hospital.

This is bone-chilling. A conservative hedge fund manager wants to require little girls to pass genital inspections for their “safety.” And it’s only for girls’ sports. There’s a clear link between transphobia and child sexual abuse.

it is hard to overstate the terrifying, catastrophic consequences of allowing this bill (KIDS Act, bigger KOSA) to be enacted it is vvv important not just for "kids" but adults to understand that this censorship and surveillance explosion is Not Good & And Especially Not Good for Fascists to Have

Generative AI is not only fundamentally based on the rejection of consent, but also *standards*. Artists have been micromanaged and hounded over individual pixels, academics fighting to defend every minute detail of their thesis, etc, and then are tossed away in favor of the get shit wrong machine.

if I'm perfectly honest, I'm not sure any of the AI companies actually know why they're doing anything other than to exist and constantly expand into industries with no concern over whether they can actually serve them. It's a global test of how much executives know about how their companies work

in fact i think the huge push for AI in creative industries is part of this- AI results in a flood of garbage that means nobody can stick out without paying to promote their stuff, essentially, which gets rid of one of the last worlds where class mobility was in *any sense* possible

Tim Swindle cryarsing about AI disclosure being a scarlet letter lets slip something significant here, because if AI was all that slop jockeys claim it was, then surely such a disclosure would be a mark of pride, even a selling point! Surely people would be clamouring for AI games. But they're not.
