Yikes: The Stranger made a classic amateur-hour mistake in its supreme court election results writeup, reporting only King County (Seattle-area) results in statewide races. The statewide results are completely different, which makes their analysis inaccurate. Amazing that no one there caught this.

Seattle's crisis response team leader Amy Barden hasn't met with Police Chief Shon Barnes since Bruce Harrell appointed him in 2024, despite the fact that the two departments are supposed to work together to decide which 911 calls require cops and which require a social work/mental health response.

Incredible that team Collins keeps responding to criticism of her Kavanaugh vote by saying she did such a good job vetting him. Reporters literally had his Bush-era emails saying of Roe that the Supreme Court "can always overrule its precedent, and three current Justices on the Court would do so"

Katie Wilson is getting shit done. - Free school meals for all kids - Tiny home villages to get people off the streets - Major transit improvements - Collaboration with the Seattle Social Housing Developer The Seattle Times and Council President Joy Hollingsworth are looking to kneecap her.

I'm pretty uncomfortable with the Seattle Times and a number of members of council seemingly gleefully encouraging insubordination from high level members of the executive branch.

This is outrageous. Thanks for nothing Barnes, great hire Harrell!

83% of Will Dreher's campaign money is from out of state, much of it from employees of OpenAI & Anthropic, & he has a grand total of *20 donors* in his district. A bold, decisive, and correct move by Mayor Wilson. It is really hard to fire a police chief, even when it’s entirely justified (and in this case it is). She has chosen…wisely.

Hearing on good authority that Police Chief Shon Barnes has just been fired. He just left the mayor's office this evening after being inside for quite a while. Barnes is currently calling around the police department to tell his captains. Still waiting on confirmation from mayor's office and SPD.

It's very rare for legislators to endorse a challenger to one of their seatmates. We should listen to @organizewithshaun.bsky.social and get Hannah to Olympia where she can work for all of us.
