Unabashedly earnest. Unapologetically enthusiastic. Infinitely curious. (he/him)

Erin is the best person to do this kind of work. Not only because she has the aptitude and care, but also because she is in the right place to both observe the clouds and report back to those of us on the ground. Everyone should throw money at her! https://www.wrecka.ge/launching-a-cloud-atlas/

Launching a Cloud Atlas

The right questions to arrive with—and the right structure for what comes out of the interviews—are not completely obvious. So I’ve been spending some time thinking about clouds.

The City of #ldnont is working on a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and is seeking community input to help determine priorities. I’ve chimed in about sidewalk installations and lack of proper winter maintenance. Provide your input here: getinvolved.london.ca/Accessibilit...

Hey, that's a nice [THING YOU DO FOR PERSONAL PLEASURE], be a real shame if somebody were to [CONVINCE YOU TO MONETIZE IT, TRANSFORMING YOUR RELATIONSHIP INTO AN OBLIGATION AND ROBBING YOU OF JOY]

The AQI has been over 500 all day today (sitting at 586 right now) so I’m taking my decision to not spend any time outside in the pool today (something I do almost every day in the summer) as a smart decision.

I’m sure there have already been a million jokes about how toronto’s sky is the colour of diffusion, tuned to a shitty generated ghibli knock-off, but here’s one more

The reason why older generations burnt the shit out of their meat and boiled the shit out of their vegetables, was your kid died if you didn't. Medium rare steaks and roasted Brussels sprouts are a side effect of an intact food safety infrastructure

First step to reframing pedestrianization as street restoration vs. transformation is expanding planning language. Today, "street restoration" largely means roadway repair. Expand that definition, & the budget, to include restoring pedestrian infrastructure, trees, art, local commerce & social life.

"executives with no understanding of the industry" seems to be an endemic problem across industries: higher education, medicine, you name it, a bunch of suits with MBAs and unearned arrogance are destroying everything around us, and for some reason, we're supposed to accept that they know best

TV writers were right in 2023 and are being proven more right every day — there was a stable television model that made everyone lots of money and put out good shows. Then execs with no understanding of the industry confused the production model and the distribution model, and they blew it all up.

the thing about llms is that they copy old work and have no ability to intentionally pursue lateral leaps of creative insight, so a world ruled by ai is a world of endless recycling of the past. imagine that. culture eating itself. imagine that. totalitarian nostalgia. imagine
