Only going out after putting on a neon vest like a reactive dog that just says MELANCHOLY.

Say what you will, “The moon has clearly seen better days” is a perfect sentence
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman on rockets crashing into the moon: "It's not a big deal right now. The moon has clearly seen better days."
Yup. I only found out about this by terrible, terrible accident and every time I see the words OneDrive I wanna yeet my laptop into geosynchronous orbit.
The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.
the inimitable Ashley Quach (@sassquachcomics.bsky.social) has a new book coming this october! it's adorable and funny and cute and 100% ballerinically accurate.
★ “The Nutcracker gets a plot twist” in Ashley Quach’s picture book STARRING SOPHIE, an “entertaining account of a performance gone deliciously awry”
There's my girl! I'm excited for you all to meet Sophie in October! Sophie is very much drawn from my childhood fantasies of unexpectedly being called upon to take the lead in a show... But of course as a kid I never dreamed of playing Clara. I wanted to play The Rat King. 🐭👑🎄

"I don't understand why you, a fantasy writer, don't appreciate the value of making bargains with the fae."
Every now and then someone takes a run at me along the lines of "I don't understand why you, a scifi writer, don't appreciate 'AI'," and I'm all, motherfucker, it's *because* I'm a science fiction writer I have the positions I have, how many times do we have to fucking yell "torment nexus," my dude
We were watching that silly new Tom Hiddleston reenactment of the disaster of Pompeii and he was like ‘we have amazing new tech that allows us to track people through this disaster’ and I was oh no he’s going to say it’s an AI brain or something and then he said…. ‘Its a spreadsheet’ and I CHEERED
Quick sketch in #procreate after watching Death of Robin Hood. Definitely felt the ending was inspired by Wyeth’s “Passing of Robin Hood” painting, building on its imagery to stage a beautiful end to the movie
Imagine starting the dumbest war and then getting totally preoccupied with your bungled pool project.
Great @nicoleeinbinder.bsky.social scoop here that raises all kinds of questions www.businessinsider.com/flock-camera...

Mad at @pbs.org for telling kids to "write" poems with "A.i."? Call your local PBS station and tell them to take down this video! You can do it - it'll take three minutes! bsky.app/profile/greg...
I called WNET in NY to ask them to remove this video. I told them it was damaging to kids. You can call them, too! Call 212-560-1313 and press 2 to leave a message (the phone prompt seems to indicate 1, but that message directs you to 2). ny.pbslearningmedia.org/resource/ruf...

The Cats movie is kinda the (much lower stakes) entertainment industry equivalent of going to war with Iran: there were really good reasons no one tried it for decades, it wasn't a failure of nerve.
My wife was somehow unaware of the 2019 Cats movie.
I cannot believe this even HAS to be boosted. It is essential that we protect and catalog this degree of comic history.
This seemed like it was worth boosting. www.kickstarter.com/projects/735...
LRS: It's so funny that people of my generation (me included) think of that tune primarily as 'Dr. Zaius, Dr. Zaius' from the fictional 'Planet of the Apes' musical on 'The Simpsons' and not the hit song 'Rock Me Amadeus' of which it was a parody.
My mom, looks me in the eye and says under her breath about her friend: "Denise just LOVES funerals"
Went with dad to the gym. Everyone else scanned their card, but dad just confidently walked in and they gave a look like "well, he's 80." Now I'm not positive the man even has a membership.
It was so inventive and original! Ambitious and big but also really human! The opposite of a “second screen” experience! Extremely my kind of thing!
I finally saw I Love Boosters and it was so great! Excellent performances! Visually spectacular! Heavy but also super fun! One of the best movies I have seen in a long time!!
