i know i'm preaching to the choir on this site of all sites, but i really think young queer people being active on twitter should be considered a form of self-harm in the same way that we generally understand 4chan is bad for you. because twitter is basically 4chan at this point

We've seen what the OSA has done in the UK We've seen Texans locked out of BlueSky if they dont hand over their personal info Call your senators and tell them to vote no against KOSA and the KIDS Act Its not for the kids. Its for censorship and mass surveillance

‼️ KOSA update: ICYMI Earlier this month, a bill package that incl this bill passed out of the House in a rushed vote. www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-ne... This is alarming BUT it isn't the end of the road. Here's what we know:

We really should stop calling it "age verification." Because that is not what it is. Call it "forced doxxing" instead. Most people think the concept of age verification and protecting kids online is common sense. So we must rebrand it to reveal its true purpose, which is something they will fear.

Fuck your age verification laws. You can tell how old I am by observing how fat and hairy my nuts are while you are sucking them from the back.

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

My child loves going to the library and checking out a new video game every week. Going digital only eliminates libraries as a way people can access games.

The death of physical media seems like a small thing practically but in essence it represents the total dissolution of games as “objects of art” and instead reduces them purely to “intellectual property”. It’s a slow disaster but if you care about games as an art form it IS a disaster.

Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/p...

I can't help but think gaming is in a really, really, really bad place right now. Things like this, massive layoffs across the industry losing thousands of talented people who will never return, and the continual refocus on the Hollywoodification of games in general. I hate it.

RT myself to save a life. This one was heinous. Remember for whom the bell tolls — all phishing attempts are stupid and obvious until the one that catches you when you’re exhausted, high, disregulated, or old.

I'm honestly impressed at the fucking audacity of this malware-installing ad. It had put something in my clipboard that would have run a virus installer if I'd followed the instructions.

A fake verification window that, instead of the usual 'choose all the images with cars' capcha, instructs the user to open Run and paste in whatever they'd loaded into your clipboard.

just as a notice before this gets qrt'd all over my timeline, this is based on no new information and is simply taking this paragraph from a statement in February literally. it's worth being reminded that it's still currently going to happen but this is extremely dishonestly framed

We’re delaying our global rollout to the second half of 2026. Where we have legal obligations, we will continue to meet them, but we will only expand globally after we've done the following:

As early as next month, Discord could enable their global age verification measures. #privacy #ageverification theprivacycloud.substack.com/p/discord-wi...
