I do not know why this reminded me so irresistibly of @oldenoughtosay.com, but I could think of little else [complimentary].
Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI
But Joanna, I *am* being kind. In deference to Liddle's family, I am not literally dancing on his grave, even after he fantasised publicly and in print about obliterating my trachea.
I was wondering why I’d got 19 clickthroughs from The Daily Telegraph…
*walks into room, writes "Jaws" on the whiteboard* *looks at execs* *adds "es" onto the end of Jaws so it says "Jawses"* *execs are cautiously interested* *draws a line through the last S so it reads "Jawse$"* *execs lose their minds*
let's pretend: Universal announces a screenwriting contest for Jaws 5. What's your pitch?
Something something tactics, something something logistics...

"Today is August 4, 2026." Can't find my copy of The Martian Chronicles to take a photo of the actual published story, but it remains a collection well worth reading 76 years later: bookshop.org/a/862/9781668094853 #books #writing
Rod? Rod? I'm waiting. Are you th– oh he's dead.
Rod Liddle is welcome to put his theory to the test on the condition that he starts with me.
Since I blocked her, @grace2002.bsky.social has added me to no fewer than 9 lists. Some people really can't handle the refusal of interaction that a block enforces. It's a fascinating psychological phenomenon to observe.
And yet, some Americans will persist in being utterly bemused as to why they aren't universally adored by the other cultures they so seldom deign to notice.
No, the *real* question is "why is this your reply to a Brit posting about the Covid experience in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?"
There were/are 1.2 MILLION confirmed COVID deaths in the USA, so you're underestimating by a factor of 5. The real question is 'How many deaths could have been *avoided* by a competent government in 2020?'. That's probably a quarter of a million.
Once more, for the "well actually" crowd...
It was actually a million people who died.
Sometimes, the "well actually" crowd need to be reminded of some even more basic facts:
Actually the total was over 500,000. The Republicans are just rehashing this as another distraction effort. They have no accomplishments or record to run on and this is the best that they can do. How pathetic.
If true, an interesting development @phillipspobrien.bsky.social

The person whose review of Jacobsen's new book I really want is Wendy Orent.
Annie Jacobsen's new book really spins George Will's bowtie.
There are a number of things to take from this piece (which is extremely cogently argued, if depressing in its implications) but something that must now be a cast-iron rule for all defence procurements from the US, as evidenced by the Starlink issue, is the **necessity** of operational independence.
Free weeked update is out. The big story this week was once again people had hope in Trump and once again that hope was delusional and served Putin's interest. The toll for this misplaced hope is being written in blood. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...
While we're doing covid discourse, the casual leaking of massive restrictions to millions of Brits, was a disgrace
All but forgotten now, but just totally staggering unprofessionalism and disservice to the public, from Downing Street??
He went on to racially abuse the Polish gentleman with whom he shared the hospital waiting room the next day – an additional offence for which he was also prosecuted. Anyway, well done, Brian Spencer, you absolute prize twazzock; you managed to get yourself sent down for two-and-a-half years.

This image is doing the rounds, and I think it's worth saying that a good rule of thumb is "don't take history lessons from people who think the Israelis were bombing Palestinians with F/A-18s in 1948."
If one of these things goes up, pray it happens at sea. If it gets hit in a harbour, the harbour will vanish; the explosion will be not dissimilar in size to a tactical nuke.
A tanker carrying Qatari liquefied natural gas was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, Bloomberg reported on Saturday, citing security intelligence firms and ship-tracking data.
If you cannot accept that what Trump has done over the last year and a half is starve Ukraine of air defense, and put off any new aid for as long as possible, so Putin can terrorize Ukraine from the air for as long as possible--you cannot accept reality.
