You know in Mony Mony when Billy Idol goes "Yeah" and the backup singers say "yeah" and they keep doing that? Well imagine it in the maritimes and he says "yeah" and the audience responds with an inhaled "yep"
Followed this fellow to near mid span, tried lining things up during the annual Natal Day Bridge Walk today, over the harbour in #dartmouth #novascotia #canada #streetphotography #Halisky
I was curious what Joel would do with the lyrics this time The original is: You be April Stevens I'll be April Wine You be Israel I'll be Palestine Last time I saw them (2024) it was: You be April Stevens I'll be April Wine I wish I came up with a better rhyme Last night (opening for April Wine)
We brought our kid to see Joel Plaskett last night so we had to stay on the dry side. The dry side had a bad viewing angle but I found an unobstructed view where the fence curved.
The singer of April Wine just said "It's always good to be back in Halifax! Ground zero" We're in New Glasgow

@budweiseracer.bsky.social I just got back from taking my kid to the new Spider Man and wanted to thank you again for the tickets to the last one.
Should I crawl through their backseat and go out the other door?
I got this mofo on sale and I love it. It has bees and the snaps are blue and the fabric is super thin
...now that the right (bike) lane is wider, drivers are treating the dashed line regions as right turning lanes, as I clearly illustrate:
BikeShareTO is arguably the single greatest Canadian public services success of the 21st century, and I really can't think of another obvious contender that comes even close.
Recently had to explain to a professional from outside Toronto, that the vast majority of downtown Toronto workers commute by bike, walking, or transit. Some drive, but they are the minority. Perhaps I should show them these bike share stations…

If they sold sunglasses at Costco would it be like a sleeve of a dozen or just one really big pair?
I hit 2000km on my cargo trike while riding to the pool this morning. It seems appropriate, since most journeys with the trike have been short (5km or less) ones like this. An electric cargo bike/trike is such a fun and efficient way to get around the city!
I'm definitely going to this one. #BikeHfx.
In lieu of a Critical Mass ride, please join a memorial ride to remember Dr. Nouman Ali. Community members have planned a ride for August 9, at 1:00, in his honour. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
I think this is a nice way for #BikeHFx to come together with people from the communities that Dr. Nouman Ali has been involved with to honour his memory.

Charlottetown is considering legalizing rolling stops which have been shown to be safer for cyclists than full stops, two-abreast riding, bike signals, and sidewalk cycling for kids under 14, and anyone in signed spots where there are temporary gaps in the bike network and low pedestrian volumes.

When we were in the river yesterday my kid lost a Croc and I chased it barefoot about 200m down stream but couldn't catch it. Then I walked 200m back. I have bruises on the soles of my feet today.
My other grandfather also had a camp in the woods. Legend has it he walked the woods until he found a good spring that could be gravity fed to a camp and he leased that land. That spring was cold and wouldn't freeze in the winter "too cold to freeze" they'd say.
There were 2 springs, one was down a trail in the woods and fed into a big bucket. My grandmother would haul the day's water up from there. The other came out of the cliff and there was a tin cup that the fishermen used.
When my grandfather had the camp on the river the road in was atrocious. To get through some of the puddles you'd be at a 30° angle in 2 feet of water. You needed 4WD to get in there.
I spent so many summers here as a kid. I haven't been back in about 15 years. Lots has changed but it's still a special spot.
There’s a quiet culture change happening in Halifax. I think it’s most obvious at #KidicalMassHfx, where you can see “all the cool bikes,” but it’s also evident on an average Sunday afternoon at the pool. The culture of family cycling and cargo bikes is growing steadily and it’s wonderful to see!
