The first day of the season over 30°C was the wrong day to make it my first day back on-site after being sick for three weeks. Having an early mark so I can collapse in bed.

Jeff Epstein spent years, right up til his death, advising these freaks that if they first want to violate the bodily autonomy of all children they should start by denying the bodily autonomy of trans children. We literally have the emails.

We literally have the emails from Jeff Epstein advising, over years, with *all* these guys on the explicit strategy of targeting trans children in order to make all their intended victims more vulnerable and easier to access. Jeff Epstein told them, literally, to use transphobia as a sledgehammer.

Doctors and nurses are voicing their objections. I-638 would require EVERY girl who wants to participate in sports to go through biological sex verification. That means expensive, invasive, and utterly gross examinations. Protect our kids and let them play. Vote NO on I-638

Apple Ordered to Open iPhone to Rival App Stores in Australia

Apple Ordered to Open iPhone to Rival App Stores in Australia

Australia's Federal Court today ordered Apple to allow competing app stores, direct app downloads, and alternative payment services for Australian users from March 1, 2027. The orders follow the court's August 2025 finding that Apple misused its market power by restricting app distribution and payment options. They cover users whose Apple Account region is Australia, with Apple Developer Program members worldwide able to participate. Apple must let users find, download, install, and update apps through competing marketplaces and websites without charging for access or obstructing their use. Developers must receive the necessary tools on substantially the same terms as for App Store distribution, and Apple cannot penalize them for using competing stores or payment services. Developers will also be able to offer alternative payments and link to other ways to pay, including within ‌App Store‌ apps. Apple cannot require them to offer its own purchasing system alongside alternatives, report those transactions, or allow Apple to audit them. Developers can offer lower prices through competing payment services without Apple preventing them. The ruling also limits Apple's ability to collect fees on those purchases. It cannot charge for purchases through alternative payment services or websites in apps distributed outside the ‌App Store‌. For ‌App Store‌ apps, fees are capped at the equivalent charge for payments for physical goods or services, plus any genuine, reasonable additional costs Apple incurs for digital purchases. Apple also cannot make alternative distribution conditional on developers offering content purchased elsewhere through its own payment system. Security checks will remain. Apps downloaded outside the ‌App Store‌ must undergo an automated security or privacy scan and be notarized by Apple or a qualified third party. However, Apple cannot impose disproportionate installation barriers or otherwise obstruct alternative distribution. Additional security requirements for competing payments must be necessary and proportionate, with developers given an explanation in advance. Apple can remove or disable externally installed apps only in specified cases involving harmful content, genuine security risks, or legal requirements. It cannot ban third-party apps or alternative app stores from being preinstalled on iPhones, but does not have to distribute competing stores through the ‌App Store‌. Apple told Reuters that it plans to appeal the ruling and ask the court to pause its enforcement, citing its intellectual property rights and ‌App Store‌ security. The changes take effect at noon Melbourne time on March 1, 2027. Apple can apply between February 1 and February 15, with supporting evidence, for a court-approved extension until May 3.Tags: Australia, Epic Games, Epic Games vs. Apple This article, "Apple Ordered to Open iPhone to Rival App Stores in Australia" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

I think the romanticism of French protest movements totally applies to Indonesian and elsewhere in the region when they happen but it just never takes off the same. I'm always told it's because we don't really understand what it's all about, but our media helps us understand what France is about so

I am absolutely a broken record on this but it is notable how much more coverage the French students (and good on them!) are getting in Australian media vs when Indonesian students get into it (and good on them!)

I think some people who attack survivors or downplay sexual violence do it because they’ve been sexually violent and they don’t want their victim to be believed. I think some people do it because, for a variety of reasons, the whole idea makes them anxious.

I am not an absolutist about two way masking, society has moved on and abandoned us, but just open a fucking window and you can reduce exposure a lot. And don't shame people for one way masking. And use an air quality meter to decide what risks are acceptable to your budget.

I like listening to the sounds of a neighbourhood, creatures, work, music, but I hate the people that just have the radio or ad supported streaming on loudly. The yapping of radio presenters, the slightly louder ads, such an intrusion.

I’ve been around a fair few nutty home ed parents, but I plain avoid the worst of them. “Normal” parents of school going children can be so neurotic, no conception of the village, everything has to be top down and trying to impart something outside of it is considered an affront to the hierarchy.

So the last time I had brain fog was when I went without ADHD meds for a while after stress induced anxiety shutdown. I dismissed that brain fog as hangover from the shutdown.

Folks that know Oz birbs, is this little one likely to die on that brick/become goanna bait, or is a parent likely to be able to rescue it?

Smol mynah chick looking in my general direction, borbed up on a brick.

What public facing people should key in on is that we live in a world where cowardice & cronyism have reached well beyond their pressure limits. To say that everything is in jeopardy due to the pervasiveness of this behavior is a tough argument to rebuke. Silence is no longer a viable strategy.
