I’ve said it before but Carney doesn’t give a shit about winning public favour imo. He rode to Liberal leadership without it, got enough for a minority, operated like a de facto majority (who was gonna stop him?) snaked his way to an actual majority and now he can execute his vision in one term.
The reality is that Carney is smart enough to realize that people don't put two and two together so easily.

"Everyone wants a revolution but no one wants to do the dishes" In my experience lots of people are ok to do the dishes and they're heroes and usually they are women, because women don't see that work as shameful. But men do not see that leadership as leadership and so women get fed up and leave.
When guys are like “that’s not rape, all my friends have done that,” that’s exactly what we’re talking about. That’s the problem. Rape is so common and unpunished that a guy could casually reveal all his friends are rapists and not see it as a problem.
When Carney believed net zero was a business opportunity, he supported it. Now that he believes it isn’t, he doesn’t. Meanwhile Ontario cities are bathed in smoke from forest fires every summer and he commits to environmental policy that will kill people.
830 wildfires burning across Canada right now. And you know what’s going to make it worse in the future? More oil pipelines. This is why our voice and our vote matters.
When Ontario has the worst air quality on Earth just remember that the rich capitalists that run Canada from parliament and Bay Street can afford to stay indoors and avoid it. Meanwhile, you and your neighbours choke on it in small insufficiently ventilated apartments and on the streets.
It’s so important to remind people that we can do good smart things that help and don’t hurt.
