Woke but sleepy, except at night. Workaholic MarTech geek turned stay at home mum. Reliant on 90% Lindt. Always neurodivergent, painfully Gen X, furiously perimenopausal & too bendy. Intoleraces: intolerance, gluten, lactose, histamine, stress & exercise
It was inevitable, wasn't it🙄 Of course the Telegraph would run with something like this👇 So let's remove some of the rose-tinted spectacles and also look at some of that data comparing 1976 with modern heat waves Because the 1976 nostalgia porn is wearing a bit thin at this stage 🧵1/23
Good news, the audio version of Neurodiversity: A Very Short Introduction is out now on Audible, Spotify, etc.! I also have three codes for free Spotify copies, so we can do a competition. Just share and like this and I'll pick three people at random to get the codes this weekend.
Never forget that YOU are a data center. Drink some water ffs.
I was annoyed that I couldn't find a database of David Attenborough documentaries where I could search for a specific episode by topic. So I made it. attenborough-100.vercel.app

The anti-trans playbook is being wheeled out against neurodivergent kids more and more in UK papers [Saturday Times]
Oh boy. Found this Green candidate's 2015 Christian Party leaflet, where he condemns "secular culture" and the "death culture" of abortion. I get that people's views can change but this is quite a turnaround for a mature guy...
Well this Green candidate has been on an interesting political journey... - 2026 – Green Party (Bexley, local election) [Previously, many parties inc...] - 2015 – Christian Party (Old Bexley & Sidcup, UKGE) - 2014 – Christian Peoples Alliance (London, MEP seat) - 2010 – English Democrats (UKGE)
Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration. He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions). Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom. And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ. Remember this.
Personally, I always got the impression that “and I feel fine” was more about conveying numbness than actual peace or confidence in the face of the end of the world as we know it. No idea why that’s on my mind now, though.
I’ve been working on this for eight months. It’s more personal than anything else I’ve written. Not politics. Not theory. Just me. ~ Pablo ~ open.substack.com/pub/pabloist...

PSHCE lessons should have included neurodivergence. Nobody ever taught me what different minds look like. I would've recognised myself and advocated for myself much earlier.
I am skeptical that the autism industry will ever reform enough to start recognising Autistic girls en masse. The only way to access autism diagnosis is informal awareness campaigns. I should've known what an Autistic girl was when I was 12, but society never taught me.
Neurodivergent parenting often feels like a built in contradiction. We’re expected to raise the next generation of "functioning" adults while our own internal systems, autistic or ADHD, are frequently designed in direct opposition to the world we’re raising them in. 1/7
I’ve stopped apologising for being neurodivergent. Liberation isn't just "tolerance"; it’s dismantling an economy that demands we be "normal" to survive. We need a society where we are valued for who we are, not how well we mimic the "perfect worker." We aren't broken; the system is. 6/6

#Thread If you’re wondering if you might be Autistic but ruling it out because some of the diagnostic criteria don’t apply read on. Initially Autism wasn’t considered a likely explanation for my difficulties because I was married, employed, seemed to cope with change, and had social skills.
The NHS appears to have set up an Independent Review re: 'increased demand for mental health, autism and ADHD assessment and support across all age groups'. They are looking for people with relevant Lived Experience to join the Review as 'Partners' - important work! #livedexperience #autism #adhd
Trying to be proudly AuDHDtastic today. I told my 7-year-old what ADHD is and that I have it - and he immediately said, “Oh, I think I have that too!” He's absolutely chuffed about it so I must be doing something right. 🥲
Do you run a neuroaffirming online community for ND people? I'd love to hear from you if you'd like it included in a round up which will be published on Substack. Details at www.facebook.com/share/p/17vn... or substack.com/@jadefarring... I'm particularly keen to hear from more non-Autistic ones!

New petition: "Fund mandatory neurodevelopmental screening for all children" Deadline 1 February 2026, created by Ingrida Jogminiene #NewPetition
New petition: Fund mandatory neurodevelopmental screening for all children
Screening could take place in primary care, including GP appointments, health visitor reviews, and school entry health at key developmental stages. It should involve early, trauma-informed, and identity-safe screening tools, with clear referral pathways, follow-up support, and outcomes monitored.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.
PSA... Disabled doesn't mean can't do anything. It means can't do certain very specific things without support.
Caring is an act of resistance in a system that thrives on indifference.
