An annoying as shit side effect to the already horrible redistricting racism in Alabama is that I now have to go vote a third fucking time this summer.

Another shirt I decided to bring back rawpaw.ink/collections/...
Most of the shirt designs I have done are and will remain single, limited run. That's what's what I like to do. But some designs I've done have been so popular that people never stop bugging me about them, and they've been bootlegged 100s of times. So rawpaw.ink/collections/...
Hey remember when Nanowrimo said "sure why not" to allowing AI slop in their process and then immediately died after 20 years of operation oh, no reason, was just thinkin' about it
Exactly what turned me off of the trailer. Also the one day a year doesn't even make sense. Why would a fascist regime give a hall pass on that?
"If this is what it takes to get a rom-com greenlit these days, maybe we should just let them die. Death with dignity is surely a better fate for the genre than fascist capitulation." Zero stars for this piece of shit movie. My review of ONE NIGHT ONLY for @ebertvoices.bsky.social
We are entering into the 90-day quiet period where they cannot do mass voter roll purges before the midterms. Make sure you check your voter registration starting tomorrow.
Tomorrow the SpaceX IPO lockup expires and it's gonna be an interesting day for markets...
Y'all my school system told us all to shut down and delete any school club accounts on X.

Abdul El-Sayed has won, NBC News says. And there are other wins for the left in Michigan: —William Lawrence wins his U.S. House primary. —A DSA-backed candidate is leading a Democratic incumbent for state House. —Abbas Alawieh, co-founder of Uncommitted, leads for state Senate.
The debate should just be someone saying, "trans people are people," and punching Yglesias in the face, and then an ad for Hello Fresh.
I saw the news that EA deal was closing this week and bought Paralives.
"saudi arabia owns EA" is going to be the headline you see basically everywhere for this one but "jared kushner is about to use EA as a vehicle for trump administration bribes" is equally relevant imo

Miller: I've been accused of inhumane actions and literal crimes just like Donald Trump, and he still won.
TAPPER: Hold on -- hold on, 'cause I'm not done with the list of women who have accused you of violence. Are all three of them lying? REP. MAX MILLER: Yes. And I'm not getting out of the race because in 2016, President Donald J Trump faced the most extreme allegations in the world ...

RIP- ELECTRONIC ARTS (1982-2026) Today EA is permanently delisting its stock from the market, following the sale of all its stock to the Triumvirate of Evil. From now on 100% of EA's profits will directly finance Saudi Arabia's regime and Jared Kushner's deals. Needless to say: not with my money.
It also relies on the fact that grammatical structures are incredibly predictable and if you know the context, you can predict exactly which noun, adjective, etc will be used. It's why I sometimes can sing along a little to songs I've never heard. When you add rhyme the possible solutions are few.
My wife and I have been together for 23 years now, and there's plenty of times that we can finish each other's sentences - and so can the autocomplete on our phones. The autocomplete manages the trick by exploiting the fact that we often repeat ourselves. 15/
"Predicting what you'll say through an understanding based on a theory of your mind" and "predicting what you'll say based on a statistical analysis of your utterances" might produce the same *outputs*, but they are *not* the same trick. You can tell by what happens when the trick fails. 14/
Finally, there's an *economic* coin-trick: "AI will destroy jobs." Sure, yes, AI is destroying jobs. But there's a vast difference between "You got fired because an AI can do your job" and "You got fired because your boss was convinced that the AI can do your job, even though it *cannot*." 45/

Y'all I hate to say it but "Google is free" isn't as valid anymore because Google has become so useless this summer that the info someone is looking for may actually be easier to find by asking on Bluesky.
my third favorite is giving me a setting that I can turn on that doesn't let me hit post without providing alt-text, but that's my first favorite feature that doesn't involve trying to avoid being abused by other users.
The Rules! Things we don't do here: * MAGA * Clout farming / grifting * Quote dunking * AI, GPT, LLM * Crypto / NFTs Things we do here: * Raise each other up * Laugh and enjoy things * Block and move on * Use alt text * Share the Tom Holland video when you see it. You know the one.
Remember folks. The original bluesky ethos by us bluesky elders (apparently I count?) is block and move on. Don't quote dunk, don't pick fights. Block, and move on. This is what made this site unpalatable to the right early on, and we can continue to make it unpalatable to them.
The Writer and Workplace Intelligence report found that 44 % of Gen Z workers and roughly a third of the broader work force said they were actively sabotaging their company’s A.I. rollout. The fear is real, & it is spreading. The way out of this is not more hype. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/o...
Opinion | I Helped Run Lululemon. The A.I. Revolution Is a Hot Mess. (Gift Article)
The A.I. revolution is stalling because companies don’t want to admit that integrating the technology is expensive and slow and requires human effort.

You can read almost any book about AI and get the broad strokes: corruption, monopoly, networked nationalism, and warfare. These readings are one way to get the context — not a “best of” list.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 “All of the speculation and hype around A.I. is hiding the fact that the technology isn’t just large language models or agents or data centers. It is the backbone of a superstructure that merges regressive politics with unchecked economic power in the guise of technological innovation.”
Anyway, I made a reading list in public. I try to avoid doing that. The Twitter “syllabus” wars scarred me. It’s gonna be a touchy few days.
From the ProPublica story on the kid with UC dealing with United: "He said his review of McNaughton’s case primarily involved reading a United nurse’s recommendation to deny his care ... he copied and pasted the nurse’s recommendation and typed “agree” on his review of McNaughton’s case."
