haven’t updated my #MisterFPGA core in over a year but I hear it’s been overrun with AI slop. if I run update all, will I be inundated? or is it just better to stick with what I have and update the cores manually from here on out? seems like a pain …

Andrew’s theme song for our podcast better than speed remains such an incredible honor. Still have no idea how I was able to land such a cool addition. He’s outrageously talented and I was thinking about this song still last week. overcast.fm/+AAKq15hTHOo

Fuck JK Rowling and the “gender-critical” movement. Amnesty International’s apology and retraction is a cowardly move in the face of threats. It also shows future human rights abusers that the organization is vulnerable to shakedowns.
Amnesty International has apologised and retracted a report calling JK Rowling's support centre 'anti-rights' for excluding trans people. See the full statement 👇 www.thenational.scot/news/2...
my chronically sick cat(s) stress me the fuck out. I got my own health to take care of, and these little things are so dependent on me. the fatigue has settled innnnnnnnn
Mina the Hollower: it’s already a classic in my mind. Plus, the wealth of mechanics lends itself to Smash perfectly
Congratulations! You have been personally chosen by the creator of Smash Bros to add ONE character into the next game. the only rule is that they have to originate from a video game. who are YOU choosing?
maybe not strongest, but certainly memorable. the quote that will stick with me forever is the old man in front of me and my friends leaving during the credits of Brokeback Mountain: “I put on my good dungarees for this?”
Got me thinking.. What's the strongest reaction you've seen an audience member have to a scene in a cinema? During the birthday party scene in SIGNS I saw a whole row of young women literally throw their popcorn in the air like a cartoon.
Arrival is a great film, but real ones know the choice here is the Charlotte Wells commercial for Quaker Oats. You go in with your arms crossed “don’t make me emotional about capitalism” and then by the end you’re sobbing “this is cinema”
AOC on a movie that made her cry PabloReports: When’s the last time a piece of art—film, music, whatever—made you cry? AOC: Okay, let me go with the worst time one made me cry. I was on an airplane watching… what is that movie? The one about aliens with a linguist? Arrival. With Amy Adams.
they put the entire run of The Prisoner on criterion, and we’re only two episodes in but: truly nothing is more thrilling than when a thing that you suspected was made exactly for you actually appears to be
I started The Prisoner on a whim and oh my god I love The Prisoner.
NEVER FORGET the debt we all owe to the Miccosukee Tribe, without whom it would still be open. And never forget that Indigenous sovereignty and all our safety and flourishing are forever intertwined.

serious question: which streaming tv remote spies on the things you say the least?
If you like Wet Hot American Summer, it’s a pretty safe bet you’ll enjoy Gail Daughtry. Laughed so hard I had to hold onto my wife for support. What a feel good movie all around.

I believe a desire to steer into masculinity as some kind of curative answer for previous political failures delivered us to this moment, and honestly, it could deliver us to much worse.
I know the last thing the world needs is another angry dude right now, but the whole situation in maine and the entire culture that supported letting yet another awful man get so far to cause this much damage has me shaken tonight. it’s like the same song stuck on a loop.
Honestly, the amount of misogyny I see in leftist spaces really just goes to show how, to paraphrase a more famous quote, we can imagine the end to capitalism, but not the end of patriarchy.
I had an *extremely* modest collection of professional and online friends over on twitter that I’d found over several years, and I never reconnected with all of them here. I somewhat enjoy the anonymity now, but I do miss a lot of the connections. You couldn’t PAY me to go back there though.
this whole past year has been like a fire sale for racist and misogynists on the left. it's been an endemic problem since forever, but god if this hasn't been a full-on parade of the worst of us.
Teachers are already reporting that AI detectors ding their brightest students for using AI, and that those students have figured this out and started simplifying and genericizing their prose to avoid getting punished for using AI.
I ran an absolutely 100% human, zero AI-involvement at any stage passage of my writing through an "AI detector," curious if it could really tell human from AI work, and it said my own writing was "84% AI written" then asked I wanted to pay to have it "humanized." So there's that to keep in mind.
there’s an author who I used to love reading whose radical empathy opened me to new ideas way before a large section of the left had arrived there. now a good portion of the left has eclipsed them. fascinating how that can happen. still value what I learned, but I’m definitely ready to move forward
maybe one day we can throw a party and dance where the supreme court used to make its awful rulings. until then, we can donate to hrt harm reduction toolkits and turn our sadness into love: www.omprakash.org/global/distr...

this is going to sound so uncultured american of me, and I apologize, but do people in the EU/UK actually say “whilst” in conversational, spoken English? I see it written everywhere lately. used to it in lit, but weird to see it in online writing, especially in US English
