ICE has now spent over $2.2 BILLION on purchasing 4 private prisons from CoreCivic, with the company banking half a billion dollars on the most recent sale. Of course, ICE will not actually operate these facilities; CoreCivic keeps the contracts to run these places for the foreseeable future.
They are negotiating to pass it by one vote. Like we haven't seen this crap before.

Texas isn't a red state. It's a state held hostage by gerrymandering and voter suppression. Hell, earlier this week they announced they're shutting down half the voting centers in Tarrant County (that's Fort Worth, 2.2 million people) and kicked everyone out of the hearing who wanted to comment.

All that money dumped into Stevens was specifically meant to send the message that they could take even an extremely lackluster candidate with few substantive ideas and drag them over the finish line even when faced with a candidate who had a compelling platform & message.

Haley Stevens spent $84M CAD on a single primary election. Michigan has 1/4 the population. Was Michigan carpet bombed, just ankle deep in Haley Stevens literature? Hard to fathom the scale.
