I was 14 when the attacks happened. This “bonding” you’re talking about? It was white people uniting to collectively harass and demonize anybody middle eastern or muslim. I watched as Islamophobia sunk its tendrils into my parents, everybody in my neighborhood and everybody in my high school.

But that feeling of a shared bond among all Americans in the early weeks after the attack is something I’m so glad I got to experience. Because it’s the thing that I think we’re missing the most today.

it's two things, to me: 1) trans rights matter because trans people matter and deserve rights, not just because failing to stand for trans rights is a bellwether for inauthentic progressivism more broadly 2) if you can't be trusted on trans rights you can't be trusted on anything

In this period of time filled with AI stupidity, let's celebrate those we are not celebrating enough: Art supporters, Art commissioners THANK YOU! Thanks to YOU, many artists can do what they do the best and keep being productive but most importantly Artists can LIVE!

"AI" is not going to reach intelligence let alone "super-intelligence." All this skynet bullshit about it is #marketing. As for "killing us," AI ALREADY IS NOW. By poisoning our environments, massive emissions, killing our minds, destroying the noosphere, causing psychosis

Transphobe alert. Quite a few of you are following this person so you might want to have second thoughts. This post has been since deleted. I am will w my AGAB so I guess I am not trans 🤷‍♂️ This person appears to be a cis woman who is now claiming misogyny due to the blowback from this post. Beware.

post from foxwife that reads "genuinely confounded by people saying they're nonbinary but also putting their ASAB in their bios. i'm just going to have to assume nonbinary is like cosplay to you if you do that. it's not serious." reply from paxlilacs reads "are we doing this. are we gatekeeping nonbinary gender identities for arbitrary reasons? That may not be your intent but it's how its reading to me. Not everyone has trauma with their agab. that doesn't mean they are cosplaying their gender identity. i don't expect trauma from others to be valid." reply from foxwife "that is exactly my intent. i am mrs. gatekeeper. if you're chill with your asab you're not really trans and you are less important in this current moment. do whatever you want but being a boy who wears mascara doesn't put you in the same universe as our rightful rulers, the transsexuals." reply from paxlilacs "idk if this is some sort of elaborate troll or you are really just reinventing truscum in 2026 but regardless, consider showing this post to your therapist because damn."

In my ongoing quest to save my favorite moments from twitter, I am sharing one of my favorite viral tweets: the time my grandmother was trying to explain to me that something was in her garden eating her tomatoes but accidentally created a god-tier meme

a picture of a yellow tomato perfectly centered on a green placement that is just spirals of tiny braiding going out in concentric circles. The tomato has a bite taken out of it, and my grandmother put white text over the bite that says "something came in the night"

Increase in productivity since 1979: 93% Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 34% Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%. As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

“this person is bad so their work was always bad” is also a really dangerous view to take because it leads to - unconscious or not - a bias towards “but I do like this other person’s work, ergo they must be a good person” which, as we have seen over and over, is simply not true

What happens a lot on social media is when someone (Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman now Ed Brubaker) has allegations thrown at them people tend to leap out the woodwork saying "their work was never good." That helps no one as it's irrelevant. What matters is their actions and what they did.
