anyhumanever.com/sources This is, indeed, tailored toward my interests. I personally wouldn't consider it ai slop tbh but maybe that's my definition (and tbf there are scare quotes here). It is definitely an ai generated project

BTW, Bluesky: turns out a lot of you love AI 'slop' when it's sufficiently middlebrow and tailored towards your interests. Because that's precisely what the "Any Human Ever" thing I've seen loads of you – including some who are usually scathing about generative AI – is.
If you only read the NY Times (or the NY Post or Wall St. Journal) you would have no idea PIT Crew existed. I know its not the sexiest story, but these are well-resourced media institutions nominally covering their home city in depth. Its a substantive story about govt that they won't cover.
Sometimes big accounts on here will do the edgy "pro bullying" stance claiming they are "standing up for norms" but, idk, i don't think the guy who sleep tortured me in boy scouts was doing that. I think the bullies are actually the ICE thugs brutalizing others and I don't wanna be them
In the continuing saga of "Fr. krupp retweets something islamaphobic" Though tbf unclear if this one was actually meant homophobic-ly
if you think people are willing to suffer the consequences of partition (read about Pakistan and India's experience), i have to question your ability to reason
Yup, and USAID isn't locked in, it's often sent to areas that recently HAD the infrasturcture destroyed or devastated by disaster or war. Particularly civil wars and drought more recently.
one piece of advice i can share as a parent: certain phases can be really tough, but they do pass. around 18 months my son kept demanding that i condemn hasan piker. all day and night too, i was at the end of my rope. now he’s really into fire trucks. it’s always something new
I agree with this, and yet! I also believe that some cyclist hostility comes from a place of "uhh, they think they are better than me" and my response is "well, yeah! One of the reasons I try to make cycling trips is because I think it makes me a better person"
Some of my bike allies like to pitch the machines as a pacifying or genteel manner of life, and they are compared to brutal car culture. But I'm a Christian realist, the human heart isn't going to be a pacified and heavenly creature in this world. Bikes can also be very ego driven methods of transit
Need a hot summer snack? Cut up cucumber. Spoon in some peanut butter, a splash of soy sauce and rice vinegar, sprinkle in some sugar if none of the prev had any added, crack in some black pepper, sprinkle sesame seeds. You're welcome
Mike Lewis is the Will Stancil to a lot of the Catholic commentariat. Just relentlessly correct about things in an upstanding but tireless way that drives so many men to lose their shit
The idea that we need absolute deference to mass opinion on technical questions of nuclear weapons control but no compromise with the electorate on "who gets to go to our whites-only school?" is a really perverse way of thinking about politics.
me (stunned): …and what do you call your act? matt: “The Popularists!”

The preferred term is "person experiencing spreadsheets." When you use the term "spreadsheet people," it turns into their identity and suggests that there is no possibility for change. Spreadsheets are what they are going through right now. It is not who they are.
"spreadsheet people"—please. they're called cellcels. put some respect on their name
One of the unending frustrations I have with priests, bishops, and the institutional church is that I don't see much of what they offer Hedgehog and Cub beyond the sacramental two or more gathered that can be found at local d&d groups.

I don’t have a problem with “Don’t Yuck My Yum” as long as an equally strong sanction is placed against “Actually Your Yuck Is Very Yummy To Me, You Should Reconsider This Take”. I believe we can get there!
*deep sigh* I still think we are in the pre stage of this and you can be the person who stands up and says "flock cameras are bad but specific traffic cameras are good!"
Yea we had a local teen create an anti flock group and galvanized both libs and conspiracy nuts in the community - turns out the cameras aren't flock and are used to review accidents - no AI and data deleted every 30 days. The conspiracy group won't believe it and it's been a shit show.
"Do I like the community of people that engages with the content creator" used to be a good sign of whether you would engage long term for a variety of reasons. In an internet where more and more stranger interaction may be ai phantom I worry this will change or won't change for bad reason

Can anyone explain what is happening in Florida? Should i care? I just assume Florida is gone right?
this is all paywalled now but a while back the p*llar made some hay about the cardinal's birthday cake as part of their campaign against him and the libs in general. It was pretty funny in the moment and whenever he comes up I can only think of his birthday cake
