Trump Administration Admits Canceling Grants to States That Did Not Vote for Him

Federal officials said in court documents that they halted billions of dollars in funding for energy projects to states “based solely” on whether they backed President Trump in the 2024 election.

“That’s where billionaires like yourself come in. For a mere $10 million gift, you can help us remake the intellectual landscape by endowing a prestigious chair in an underrepresented subfield, such as geocentric astronomy, high-energy phlogiston physics, or patriotic history.“ 😂

Every single judicial nominee here - each one up for a lifetime appointment - is afraid to state a simple truth. Afraid to state a simple fact. Every single one of them. Every single American should take two minutes and watch this. And then be utterly disgusted.👇

Judicial nominees afraid to state that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. Sen. Blumenthal stated: "I am ... really appalled that nominees for a lifetime appointment to the Federal bench...afraid of Pres Trump?" They were supposed to be independent. They are weak & pathetic. youtube.com/shorts/iHGDn...

Ted’s thread is right. I think that having a solid, shared basis of knowledge is important for a society to understand where it has been, and how the past continues to shape it today. Sharpening the public’s historical memory is essential for self-reflection and self-awareness. Social cohesion? Meh.

I worry quite a bit when I hear “social cohesion” invoked as a justification for studying history, since it’s long been in the mouths of people denouncing (and, in the US, banning) “divisive” accounts of the past — such as those attentive to migration, race, slavery and empire.

Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia— AOC: Wah wah wah. We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no. What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over.

Covid-19 vaccines roughly halved the chances that a US adult would need to visit the emergency room or be hospitalized with their infections last fall and winter, according to sources. But you won’t hear about it from the agency that led the research: the CDC. https://cnn.it/4dY5Yy5
