Without doing any research, I think Samurai Unicorn might be the first game where you can walk around a mostly accurate Sydney Opera House.

Indie game dev gremlin. Making The Last Exterminator: www.thelastexterminator.com
Made a new model and @ronisilva.bsky.social created this awesome thing that makes the muscle texture stretch and tile itself depending on the distance of the bones. Really cool! #lowpoly
Check out our next PAX Aus 2026 Indie Showcase Winner, powered by Superloop! The Last Exterminator by Ironworks Games is a 90s action blockbuster shooter packed with over-the-top action, explosive set-pieces and gloriously cheesy humour.
I'm no stranger to doing odd jobs. I've been a phonesex operator, a lesbian escort, a construction worker (cement mixing), secretary, magazine illustrator. I studied Medicine. But the one thing I know how to do well is game art. I have a passion for it and 21 years under my belt. I wanna work ❤️🩹
We're not dead, The Last Exterminator is still alive and kicking ass!
Working on audio is annoying to begin with because I can't listen to music, but what's even more frustrating is when you're working with headphones that decide "Oh you haven't been listening to anything for 30 seconds? I'm going to power down and not wake up again" >:(
big doors are cool. Wip screenshot from my Quake Rooftops jam map.

Tip for newer gamedevs; Always put in the time to make it so that you can test a minimal version of a level in your game. Just an empty room and the thing you need to test. I see so many devs running through half their level to test something every time!
Also, we're coming to PAXAUS 2026 as a proud member of the Aus Indie Showcase, come check out a new build with some exclusive levels!

there's a pretty simple connection here 1. humans become good at what they practice doing 2. outsourcing to an AI or even other people, means you have stopped doing the thing 3. if you stop doing the thing, you will stop improving, and, long term, get worse at it (cont.)
i really think genai causes actual brain damage. probably faster than most ways you can on purpose give yourself brain damage. and if you hear this statement as literally as i mean it i think it sounds sorta conspiracy nut, but undeniably less conspiracy nut than the apparent sum of its parts
Somewhere out there inan alternate timeline the DMC 2 / DMC Turbo and the Firestar 500 ended up being produced

Being able to bake shadows into the Doom Engine is so freaking cool.

So I'm looking at moving some of my documentation stuff out of a local Obsidian repository and onto the web in general. Does anyone have any particular recommendations for public-facing Wikis? Ideally something that supports Markdown format if possible.
I can't believe how many programmers don't believe that noop rhymes with hoop
Anyone else feel a weird weight in their fingers when you've copied something to the clipboard but haven't pasted it yet
Really split between how cool it is that people can make professional-looking equipment at home with a 3D printer and parts ordered online, against how much I miss seeing tin hobby boxes with 3 massive unlabeled bakelite dials that does one extremely specific thing.
God scrolling this site gives me horrible emotional whiplash. Unending horrors from beyond, but hey someone made a nice art!

Found this audio file of me failing to play a simple melody on a tin whistle and I have absolutely zero memory of making it
I've been working on this for over a year: I'm remaking all of Ocarina of Time's prerenders in 3D, trying to match the N64 style rather than the 3DS one. The provisional name is OoT unJPEG. It will be distributed as both a romhack that runs on real N64 hardware and a mod for Zelda 64 Recompiled.
I have just discovered that in Options.cpp, I'm saving a file called Settings.mdf, and whenever I talk to people about it, I call it a Config file, and this is really irritating me.
