Jesus Christ: after a recent ruling by the Eighth Circuit that allowed Act 372 to take effect, an Arkansas county has banned all children from checking out any books in the adult section, bringing home any DVDs, or using the self-checkout kiosk in its public libraries.

so note/reminder on some reposts just now: - not ontologically opposed to AI - I've determined it's not for me and my line of work (higher ed) - there *may* be/likely will be research potential for others - there *isn't* pedagogical potential for me and others in the classroom
Im NOT technophobic, and im not sure how many times I need to point that out. I grew up with tech, and understand what it can do in research and teaching; but nothing you're showing me re LLMs is convincing me that it offers anything new or useful for my own classrooms.
