an update: the bevy team is currently in talks to completely give up on enforcing the "no AI" policy, so i would advise against considering it.
$50.1 million could fund over 400 doctorates; 933 years worth of annual curator salaries (UK), or running cost for a millennium-worth of free events like the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival. It is inane that people can accumulate such wealth, and use it explicitly to cause public harm.

my programmer friends have been venting to me a LOT lately about how awful this feels even internally at companies - being handed broken code by coworkers and when you ask them about it, they say "I don't know, claude wrote it". a fundamental abandonment of responsibility to your peers

you can always stick with an older version, they will be supported for a long time. i still use Godot 3 and Godot 4.3. Love2D is avoiding AI and is a very good 2D engine. Bevy is another, more advanced option for 3D which also rejects AI contributions. good luck 🫰
I’m seeing a lot of people who feel upset and betrayed about this. I’d like to give some perspective on this as a software engineer to help other game devs understand it better. Specifically, I want to answer what is he saying, what does it mean, and what does it mean for you specifically.

Before that I've used other tools (code completion, etc.) I don't vibe code Ren'Py, though - that's not something you do if you want a project you can maintain. 1/2
