Most of the land in most farm counties is owned by 1-5 families. They run the place like their own personal kingdoms. There is SO much resentment and straight-up fury about this in rural areas. The fact that no political party's even really trying to speak to it is wild.

I think one of the biggest tells of how hegemonically Christian the West is is how people who don’t see themselves as Christian because they’re not practicing Christians are still very much engaged in the Christian project of positioning “Christian” as a synonym for “good.”

It really irritates me that a fandom that has been open and welcoming to women of color and queer women has become a target for fascist activists. From political lobbying to staging harassment campaigns disguised as protests to even bankrolling a player riding the bench.

So a thing you can do to combat ICE with zero risk is ATTEND CITY/COUNTY COUNCIL MEETINGS. Demand that (1) local cops not cooperate with ICE by sharing info about arrests/jail releases; (2) local prosecutors investigate, prosecute cases where ppl are kidnapped by unidentified ppl without warrants.
