Lots to think about about after The Odyssey today in IMAX. Good to get 30% more image than I would got at the local Odeon, very glad I took earplugs. Weirdly felt no longer than My Old Ass, which we watched last night and it’s *twice* the running time.
In person at a book event I was surprised to find Ann Widdecombe to be polite and chatty. I came to my senses and sat outside the talk though as her audience were rabid tories. Next time I saw her was in Tesco haranguing the staff about the Clubcard offers.
Have just shared my ancient Calvin & Hobbes books with my daughter. Am so glad she appreciates them. Then this nonsense appears on my desktop!
More examples of these please for a distraction prone reader?
Perfection.
This is a lovely book if you like real quality quirky comics. David has a fantastic eye and draws a really interesting line. Buy one!
So after a great sold out evening event with Zakia Sewell and folklorepod.bsky.social what better way to finish off the day than a May Eve story from @johnnymains.co.uk Dead of Summer collection?

Incredible picture: Orion snapped this high-resolution selfie in space with a camera mounted on one of its solar array wings during a routine external inspection of the spacecraft on the second day into the Artemis II mission. Credit: NASA

I'll be in #Exeter on 14th of May being interviewed about THE DEAD OF SUMMER and how putting original themed seasonal books together are more difficult than they might first appear. Link below to book tickets (which are a very reasonable £4)

I loved this comparison of the two Menaces.
It’s the 75th anniversary of a man in Dundee called David Law creating the “world’s wildest boy”, who lived in the pages of The Beano, and later that same year acquired a stripy jumper which he never again took off – and in 1968 got a dog as disciplined as its owner: Gnasher 🧵

Every sodding day, more self published novels in my feed with AI slop covers. Can you imagine presenting this to the world?
Happy Meldrew Point Day, Geri Halliwell! Today you are 19,537 days old and have reached your Meldrew Point - the age of Richard Wilson on the day One Foot In The Grave was first aired on Jan 4, 1990. I don’t believe it!
